look what I welcomed home today on my trip back to PA Got it for a song to.. Also there are imprints from Mera badges on it only thing is its on an 86
It runs it drives.. the clutch master and slave may need to be replaced because there peddle feels a little spongy but it disengages fine Turn signals don't work so I need to diag that but its a dimond in the
Nice find but looking at your pics I don't think you have a Mera. There was only 1 1986 Mera and it was a prototype built on an 85 chassis if I remember correctly. If it is a Mera it'll have a Mera serial #. Rodney Dickman is the expert on these cars, check with him and he'll let you know for sure if you have a Real deal Mera or merely a kit car

Many years ago someone showed up at the Carlisle show with a 308. You could see the Mera logo in the faded paint on the rear deck lid. It was an earlier Fiero chassis. I can't remember what year. 85 or 86? I should have recorded the VIN. One thing I remember is the rear tires were offset from the body. Like the body was on but not centered on the back end. Measure the overhang of the fenders compared to the wheels. Does one side stick out more? if so it could be this same car. Possibly was a stolen Mera and put on a different chassis?

Are you now back in PA full time or still living in TX? Still Navy bound or has that changed? The most important question is - what about the benz - there are a number of bets riding on the length of ownership New mera/308 rebody looks good - Wish I could make the fall show in mine but we have a local "super show" at the MARINE BASE that our local club is supporting.

I'll look into it. it looks kinda centered but it could be off... but it does faintly have mera shadowed into the paint on the rear decklid... What I think happened was someone blew up the engine on its original chaises and found it easier just to transfer it to a new frame

Rodney may be on to something. The rear wheels/tires do look offset differently in your pictures. But, don't feel bad, the GMC Canyon (2010) I have came that way from the factory. Go figure, you build a new vehicle with different offset of about an inch, side to side at the rear. How is that IMSA doing? Good luck with your new find.

He is right its not on an 87 or 88 fiero it was taken off and slapped onto an 86 but hell it dosent matter to me its still a mera body and if I want an original that bad I can just go out and get an 87 or 88 and put it on there (correct me if im wrong but the MERA body's were never numbered to the chaises they were put on. but it dosent bother me. the engine runs good it drives well in it the frame is solid just about everything works in it. I have to look into whats going on with the wheels could be there is a spacer behind one of them (had that surprise on my 1st 86) but either way im very happy with it.. ive been wanting something to tinker with for a while. as far as the IMSA goes Jason has it right now and is doing a 3800SC swap for me

BTW would any of you happen to know why my turnsignals wont work, I just replaced the flasher and the 4 ways work fine but the turn signals don't do a thing.
On your turn signals --- do you have the standard 1157 bulb or the two bulb system -one for parking lights one for turn signal - two bulb system the contact board in the plug is prone to failure - On both systems check the grounds --------------

And the really funny thing is I bought this car litterley a half mile from where I bought the IMSA, even transferred the title at the same place where I transferred the IMSA.... Allentown PA must grow nice fieros or something
Delaware sure doesn't. There's an 86 GT in New Castle I've been trying to get ahold of the owner for a while. It's sitting there at a small dealership but no one's ever there.
Looking at the pictures I would bet it uses the standard GM 1157 bulb and socket for the parking lights and turn signals. I would look at the sockets and check for corrosion and or broken grounds. Be very careful with the brake and turn signal lenses (rear) as they are impossible to find used and expensive if you do find them. I understand EVM Rob is making Mera replacement lenses.
Just though I'd give you something to look at for inspiration

now I know my competition in the area im going to have to change out the taillight harness to... being that it wad out on a notchback when the running lights are 9n the amber and running lights come on with the headlights and I dont think it looks right . And I already have to replace one. Now as far as the turn signals issue. They dont work at all... when you use it to signal left or right the indicator on the cluster dosent even come on... it very well could be the stalk

When I lost "ground" on my front turn signal socket I had no interior turn signal light on the cluster either. Double check the wiring and grounds and the condition of all socket connections before you disassemble the stalk.

Will do because I have no interior lights except the dash. Where would those grounds be?
