Just browsing eBay tonight, and saw THIS DASH COVER for the first time. Does anyone know anything about it? It appears to be JC Whitney, so it is a WELL known car parts company. The photo is a generic dash cover, so no help there. My dash is pretty cracked, and am looking for something to cover it until I get a full fledged custom dash ready to go it it, but something that looks and fits decent at least.

Ok, I just called Parts Train, and they could not give me any further information. He did say that "caps" is the term they use for the entire shell that goes over an existing dash. At their recommendation, I then placed a call to the manufacturer and talked to a woman named Dee. She was not familiar with the part, and was going to research it, and email me back what-ever information that she can come up with.
Here is a "dash cap" for a Pontiac Lemans for instance.
For the Fiero, It could still be just the "caps" as we call them, but no one seems to know where they sell them or where they manufacture them

Ask them to email you a photo of the actual part. I got one of the formed plastic covers for my Mercedes dash. It covered the whole dash and looks just like a stock one, fit like a glove, and was very happy with the result. It was only $69 from a Mercedes aftermarket parts supplier. This was called a dash 'cap' too...it covered the whole dash from end to end and windshield down to the wood trim on the front. They do offer you a zero restocking fee, and pay for return shipping. so you cant go wrong. Pay with a credit card so you can dispute it...just in case.

Very cool Jeff, thanks for posting that. I just hope they keep the price within reason. as rogergarrison said above, If it was $69 for the Mercedes dash cap for his car. That being the case, the Fiero's normal pricing structure would put theirs at......Hmmmm $179 is my guess.
Thanks John for the input.....Maybe the next project after the Center Console Skeleton and is almost ready to go to "The Mall" section.
Just FYI, when I said that, I meant to duplicate the stock Fiero dash as a drop in replacement. Something that would take an industrial vacuum press to accomplish the way that it is manufactured.

JP contact JimmyS. He was quoted $700 to rebuild/recover a Fiero dash as new. This is done from a new mold from dashrebuilders.com or some such name (I don't recall the exact web site name)
