Definitely not a Mera. Headlamp covers and hood are both incorrect, also it is missing the Ford Escort Wagon reverse lights that came on the production Mera's. There is a company in England that offered a 308 body kit for the Fiero. They still have a website. I imagine that this car was assembled using that body kit.
Having lived in the UK the side maker lights must be that high and so many inches in front of the door. Also, the reverse lights must be removed and lowered to a certain height. Silly rules really. Could easily have been a MERA when those things are mentioned. Now the headlight doors...a whole nother story. Could they have been repaired at some point? Those aren't Vitalonis like mine. Is the rest of the body correct? Doesn't look like my MERA. I am with the fellas that say "Nay" on this one.

Actually, in Europe, the indicator repeaters are usually aft of the front wheels. Also, given that reverse lights are not a requirement here, I would suggest it very unlikely that the 'originals' have been moved (and in this case they haven't been 'lowered' they've been 'relocated' to the centre of the indicator lens. The line of the rear panel doesn't look right either, the recess the number plate sits in doesn't look like it used to contain reverse lights.
Oh yeah, and the decklid is wrong, the vents don't join together like on a Mera.
I agree that there are some indications that this is not a Mera. However, I have asked the builder to supply the Mera build number so we will see what happens. If this is a Mera it has been highly modified. Parts of the interior are more F355 than a Mera, the mirrors look more like F430 mirrors, wheels are aftermarket, headlight covers are wrong, no backup lights, backup light incorporated into the Amber tail light lens, etc. The rear deck lid louvers are also incorrect for either a Mera or a F 308. Note that the solid center piece between the louvers goes all the way back and does not truncate as does a Mera engine vent. Something about the rear deck and quarter panel also bothers me.
If I get an answer from the owner I will post it.
Update: No response from the owner about the requested Mera build number except for :

That is weird...the exact same repeater lights and the exact same removal of me reverse lights done by a qualified MOT station to a US designed and registered car while obtaining my V5...and you are saying they did it wrong?
