I have a chance to get this clutch kit real cheap. I was wondering if it looks correct and is a good one. Would eventually be used on a Stock 88 2.8 5 Speed Getrag, or a Stock 2.5 5 speed Isuzu. I noticed it has more springs than the Autozone ones...seller says he bought it for an 86 2.8 4 speed.

We sold those when I was in the part store business. Had no problem with 'come backs' due to quality issues.

The throw-out bearing may not work....I think the 4 speed fork was different than the 5 speed.

Yeah, from what I understand, the type of TO bearing used is dependent on the transmission.

My only other way of checking was looking at autozone's websight.
They list the same Duralast "Clutch Set" part number for a 5 speed isuzu, a 5 speed getrag, and a 4 speed (getrag?). I searched 85 2.8, 88 2.8, and 86 2.5 Fieros.

Well, the seller says there is no part # on the box, but the clutch plate says # VLC 8042, and the Pressure plate (Borg&Beck) BBC 1915

Thanks for the input, since I dont need one at the immediate moment, and there doesnt seem to be enough data to know if it will work, plus it wouldnt be returnable if it didnt. I chose to pass on it for now.
