I will be there through a plane flight due to blowing a head gasket or cracked block or head haven't had the time to fully dive in and find the problem. Probably not the farthest traveler as there was a group from germany at the 30th.
Traffic is always bad here. Since you’re coming from Michigan you’ll likely hit traffic around the lake approaching the Illinois border. It’s normal and something that’s hard to avoid.
Remember if your Fiero is part of The Fiero 35th Anniversary a fire extinguisher is required. A minimum Class BC UL rating of 5B:C, 1.5lb extinguisher. Most retail outlets carry this type for $15. A 2.5lb ABC extinguisher with a UL rating of 1A:10B:C is recommended. During the show your extinguisher is to be displayed on the ground in front of the driver’s side tire. A very limited number of fire extinguishers will be available for purchase at the show. www.Fiero35th.com

We will be coming through very early saturday morning.
To say I am bitterly disappointed is an understatement, but there is no possible way I can have my '85 GT ready for the show.
Does anyone know if a registration could be transferred? I would like to recoup some of my $100 I spent (1 non-judged registration, 2 t-shirts, 2 nose badges, 2 key chains). I would feel better being able to offer a discount to someone who's Fiero IS able to make it.
If it is possible I will post something in the mall, and the most popular FB Fiero groups. If not, well C'est La Vie, at least I supported the event.

Keep your eye on www.fiero35th.com for the latest updates on all of the scheduled events! http://fiero35th.com/schedule.html#schedule1
You are invited to Poncho Perfection Magazine’s Hall of Fieros at 7:00pm to hear our outstanding guest speakers. The current list includes:
John Callies John spent 20 years with General Motors in their Pontiac division. For the last 15 years of his career with GM, Callies headed up Pontiac Motorsports Engineering before leaving in 1986 to start his own venture, Callies Crankshaft. Since leaving GM, Callies has played a role in several different automotive ventures most recently partnering with Morel to bring innovative lifters and gears to the racing market. Callies, who holds a Masters in Mechanical Engineering, is best known to the Fiero community for his role in designing the ‘84 Fiero that paced the Indianapolis 500, which he also had the honor of driving during the 1984 race. John was Chief Engineer in the development of the Super Duty engine program that included several racing series classes.
John Paskvan John worked as the Powertrain Systems Manager at General Motors between 1984 and 1988, overseeing the implementation of the drivetrain engineering in the P Car project developing the V6 option for 1985. John then went on to spend 10 years at Nissan, before venturing into other marine and motorcycle ventures. He currently serves as the President of Directed Products, Inc., a marketing and technical consulting firm founded to develop new markets for suppliers to the automotive, marine, construction equipment and power-sports industries.
Answering One Final Important Question - What’s the Best Way to Get to the 35th? In your Fiero, of course! Aside from this preferred method of transportation, our resident East Peorian, Garry Kay, has been checking the IDOT webpage and based on what he is currently hearing about the area, it looks like there will be clear roads in the Peoria area from Interstate 74, exit 95 to Main Street, to Camp Street to the host hotel. All major interstates in the surrounding area have some construction, but nothing with any long detours or delays are anticipated. Garry recommends that if you can, avoid traveling around the Chicago area.

John Callies..... all that PLUS: Father of the Race Fiero, an AMAZING engineer, and one of the best, most down to earth guys you will ever meet. Period.
Personally, I have been an engineer in Automotive for 20 years and I can tell you, he is the genuine article. Don't miss your chance to meet him and talk with him!
Maybe you aren't on facebook? You can share pics here on Pennocks Fiero Forum, and you can also share them here in this Google Album for us all to see! We may put them in an album for folks on facebook to see.
I have question for Garry Kay. Do you know where there is a Catholic church near by?
Thanks
Steve
Steve, There are several nearby, right across the river in Peoria. Sacred Heart, St. Joseph, and St. Mary's Cathedral are the closest, within a mile or two. www.masstimes.org has location and time information for these, as well as others. Marty

Bought one today on sale at Costco for $13. Good that I did because the one I had in the car the gauge was showing empty. :-/ Excited for the trip. Other than Daytona show (3+hrs when in FL) I haven't had a long trip on my red Fiero in the last 5+ years.

Wanted to thank everyone involved in setting up the 35th. This was my first major Fiero event. I came without knowing anyone or what to expect. I ending up making great connections with everyone being extremely passionate and friendly and I thoroughly enjoyed all events that were planned for the event. I am already looking forward to the 40th
A special shout out to the Kansas City Fiero Group for allowing me to join their caravan and making me feel welcome. Their help was extremely appreciated correcting issues with my car halfway through the trip.
Thanks to everyone who came out, enjoyed, helped, celebrated etc! It was great to see everyone!
Well we tried to man the raffle ticket & merchandise booth but those people from NIFE, just would not let us work! LOL Great people and they didn't want a break. We asked them many times. LOL
To the people involved in making this show happen a big Thank You!!! You did put out a phenomenal show. So many nice cars out there. And the best was meeting the owners. Was nice to drive my own for 6+hrs each way without incident. I haven't used it much lately. Hope to be back for the 40th :-)
