That's right! It's running, it didn't run for long due to the fuel leak, but it runs.|
Listening to the advice on the previous post, it was in fact the clutch being low. I will be replacing that so I can atleast start it without bypassing the switch every time.
other tid bits. Put brand new tires on it, tried to get the caliper free , but it seems the bottom bolt is really stuck on there. any suggestions on how i can remove that?

Having a clutch safety switch is mostly a GM thing. All of the other brand manual transmission cars I have had did not have one. I cut the clip off and stripped the insulation and wirenutted the wires together. I always start a manual car in neutral with my foot on the brake.

Make sure you use a T50 torx to get the brake bolts out.

Believe it or not, my Father saved himself and his car on a Stygian rally back in the 50s with the car's NON-safety starter; He was coming around a turn and hit a big puddle- the car died...Behind him he could hear someone coming at high speed, so he put it in 1st and hit the (Over-sized) Starter and moved the car out of the middle of the road just in time.


The car was a Jowett Jupiter......Won 3 times at Le Mans in it's 1.5 L class (Can't find the pic)
