I really enjoy long road trips, plus camping- even in the Fiero. But back in 1998 I had a 1973 mach 1 Mustang w/5.0 FI engine and went for a camping trip up in far NE California- specifically Lava beds Nat'l monument....Had a good time but remember passing 3 semis and a couple of cars at 90 + mph on highway 97 (In a passing lane- I am not a complete idiot (Still studying)....Anyway, I decided to re-trace some of that trip....Looking on Google maps and went to street view and.....hmmm- What is that red car with smooth front-end...? A....FIERO?! In the middle of absolute no-where! COORDINATES; 42°00'00.2"N 121°53'12.6"W
So here is the challenge; Find a Fiero on Google street view- Not yours, not at the Fiero Factory or other KNOWN locations....then post the picture here.

San Leandro- Hey that's me....When did I park there- and where exactly is that? Wait...that ain't my Fiero....... (When I moved to San Leandro in 1993, there were 3 Fiero daily drivers near me....Now they are all gone.)
IMSA......Have I found your hidden talent? How in heck did you locate all of those Fieros on Google?
Rbell, I hope the Fiero wasn't a victim of that fire (You know that the Media would claim the Fiero was the.....Arsonist........)

I've been going over the real estate listings for the last couple of years, hoping to find the perfect place to move to. When I find a listing that has some potential, I then check out the neighborhood using Google Street View. I've saved myself a lot of gas over the last 24 months doing this, and I've also spotted a few parked Fieros in the process. Here's one such example... a nice looking Formula.
One thing worthwhile mentioning (that not everyone is aware of) is that all the "old" street views are still available to look over. I believe 2007 was the first year that the Google camera car made it's appearance in this neck of the woods. It's not uncommon to find a dozen or so street views of some neighborhoods, all from different years.
This thread reminded me of a thread from 2015, where I was able to post a Google Street View of me driving one of my Fieros. Now, that's a real challenge. Who else can find themself driving their Fiero in traffic on Google Street View?

Ta-da, I found me!
That's my '84 duke that's sort of been retired since I got my '88 Formula... although the hood, decklid, wheels/tires and seats have all been transferred over.
As you can see, I had six versions of this stretch of road to check out. If nothing else, I'm persistent.

Now wait- You want the challenge to be to see yourself driving your own Fiero? Well, for me that is basically impossible....Every time I get someone to take a picture of me in the Fiero It always ends up showing a loose nut! (You know, that happens with my other cars and also my boat.......)
Patrick- That is really an amazing Co-Inc-E-Dink.......You shoulda played the Lotto the day that pic was taken!

Although I was aware on that day back in 2012 that the Google camera car had driven by me, it wasn't until three years later that I discovered the actual photographic evidence. That was the day I should've bought a lottery ticket.
ImsaGT, it is ironic that you posted a pic of that silver Fiero in Palo Alto behind the fence. I used to drive by that house for many years. I actually stopped by one morning to talk to the owner. I noticed it had some serious left front suspension issues. (wheel was angled outward a lot!) He said he planned to fix it up but as time wore on it was still sitting in the same place. By the way, the Palo Alto Frys is directly behind this house. Kit

Funny because I used to LIVE at that Fry's My entire paycheck would be spent there. That entire row of houses were fenced off for demolition and that car remained locked behind the fence, like the owner abandoned it. Right before they demolished the entire block, the car was probably towed away.
My daughter was returning a patient home and spotted a Fiero sitting in a field at an abandoned house. When she left she stopped and texted me a great picture of it from the edge of the field. It's an 86 or 87 SE with wing. Has a small bush growing out of the opening in the front fascia. I looked it up on Google Maps. Here's the link. 101 Cox Road, Jefferson, Ga. https://www.google.com/maps...sA!2e0!7i3328!8i1664
This '87 GT sat in this driveway for about a decade that I am aware of; perhaps longer! Then one day I drove by and it was gone.... But I found it again a few weeks later in the junkyard.
I took the steering wheel from it and eventually had it recovered, and I also took the antenna base and cable, so at least some of its DNA lives on.
I recall seeing another Fiero in my neighborhood when I was tandem-cycling a couple of years ago. So I checked out the area on Google Street View, and sure enough, I found a Formula pictured beside the same house three times from 2018 to the end of last year. I had several options to choose from in regards to the shot used here, but I selected this one as I liked the sky. Perhaps not the best view of the car itself, but we all know what a Fiero looks like.
Just for the heck of it, I looked up this location using Google Earth. I wanted to see if a satellite might've captured a shot of this same Fiero. What I found is rather interesting. I believe it demonstrates how Google Earth stitches multiple images together to provide what can be found at their site. Here's the same silver Formula, but it's been "blended" into another vehicle. Reminds me of the hybrids created in The Fly.

Patrick- I agree with your choice of backgrounds...But what the heck is going on with that pole to the left?!!
There's often distortion in Google Street View scenes due to multiple images being stitched together. What I found humorous about that pole is that it has a sign on it that mimics the very distortion that the pole itself displays!
