Trying different look out, using diodynamics.com halos. Black tape to cover portions of the halos and I am not leaving the left side white and probably a light tent to the lense. I didn’t want to waste paint yet. I wish I could get my 3d printer to work properly so far using 3x2 pvc reducers.

I'm just starting to restore and build my 88GT and wanted to do something very similar to this. I've wanted the Pontiac to remain in the middle and do infinity taillights, two on each side. Could you share how you did this? Could you share and dimensions or specs of things that you used?

So far I have a pvc sheet 1/8” thick that replaced the original reflectors, they were is sad shape. I manage to get a second set in case I didn’t like the out come. I cut that to shape ( I will get a picture tomorrow) and adhered that in with a temporary adhesive. I am still trying different idea so nothing is permanent yet. I have projector headlight lenses in the center behind them is addressable LED halos and controlled by a BlueGhozt controller. Outer ring is diodynamics halos which can be cut but I don’t think I will because I believe I want the look off the smaller one on the left side. They can’t be cut multiple time just enough to take a section out. They are super bright and I start seeing double after awhile since I want to decide the look as they are lit. The fixture to hold them is currently drain fittings 3X2 with another reducer to hold the inner addressable LED halo. I will take more pictures tomorrow. I would like to order new custom lenses when finished and also have a matrix of LED’s behind the Pontiac if I don’t make changes to that. Thanks for the compliments, this has been many hours of deciding and testing. I just took them apart this evening to make a small change. I will post a video of that as well.

Picture I had already taken at the start with ABS sheet that was hard to shape. Also my fog light on the skitime bumper. I can’t get my 3d printer to print properly, I think due to the slicer program to print my housing for the lights. I need them a little smaller than the PVC drain fitting.

Photo shop from a Mazda 3 but I decided I didn’t want to replicate it. I do want to put the Pontiac emblem in the center somehow and light it up around it.

You will find the current addressable LED such as in the video above are not bright enough for all day light viewing or legal but you could swap out for shows. The projector lenses in front of mine definitely helps. I also have some day time running light I want to use for revere light but they just too bright and I may place them in the bumper so they go downward and don’t blind people.

More pictures. The Black housing LED is from TRS and I hope to place it behind the projector lens but it has a hot spot. I need some kind of diffuser. Different reducing fittings to hold the addressable led halos.

Cut out this part

Installed 1/8 pvc sheet and adhesive to mount PVC fitting. The adhesive is easy to get loose to make changes.

Smaller LED halo behind the projectors but still washed out from daylight.

Just closed the garage door.

Combined effect of two halos and projector. I like it.

While your creativity is admirable and you do nice work, I do not believe those tail lights are D.O.T. street legal. I would check with your local jurisdiction in Illinois and see if state inspection or motor vehicle laws will approve those.

I am quite certain they are not DOT approved. I doubt any of the modifications would be to lighting that many have done.
