Hello all,

New owner of a modified 88 Formula that has been 3.8sc swapped. Just thought I'd introduce myself and start a build thread soon on my progress to turn it into a nice autocross/cruiser. Got to get the swap harness cleaned up. The previous owner has bypassed the ign key and does not have the speedometer and tach working. It runs and drives well, but need to get the alignment dialed in; it was a bit darty on the ride home, especially at higher speed. Hoping to get some lower rez pictures soon.

Image size as immaterial, as the forum software will automatically re-size large images smaller to fit within the post/thread (as has occurred with your 1920x1280 images above). However, the file size needs to be limited to 2 MB or below, to avoid the photo being replaced with a clickable image icon link. Your images above are just fine, as the largest file size is only 348 KB.

Welcome!

I just picked up an 88 with a 3.8sc swap last fall also! Just got it on the road last weekend. Have any pictures of your engine?

Regarding the alignment, the rear toe angle is probably off. What you described is typical of a Fiero with the rear wheels toed out. Since the car has had an engine swap, the rear suspension and cradle were probably removed and reinstalled. And that can disturb the rear wheel alignment.

Long story short, I agree it needs an alignment. BTW, nice looking car!

Pic is nice car...

⚠️ The PA Antique Tag has rules to have it and how you drive the car.

If you plan as a Daily Ride then have to use normal PA tag and Pass Safety Inspection that require Working Speedo in most states.
Engine swaps often means Trans has change too and may have problems w/ the speedo sensor/sender use in Fiero.

Thanks for the tip! Didn't dawn on me for the rear, just noticed the steering wheel off, but the previous owner was running a different steering wheel, and put the original on for sale.

Not a daily for me. Got the 2004 Volvo wagon for that. the Fiero is strictly a weekend car/car show toy for me. I just figured it was also easier to transfer the Classic car plate from the previous owner. My wife has a 1967 Mustang convertible as her toy, and I wanted to have something in the garage too. I sold my old wagon to get the Fiero though.
