Since I didn't read many posts about this as yet, I thought that it would be nice that I'd mention the second largest Fiero event of 2023. It is Fieros at Carlisle 2023 at the GM Nationals show that celebrates the 28th year of the event. I believe 80 Fieros have already been pre-registered and this would make it a large event. This year the Pontiac Fiero will be the featured car of the show and its on my calendar. This show is different than the 40th celebration in that it has some unique features. It is a GM show featuring all makes and models. The fairground covers 82 acres and draws over 1000 cars and something like 20,000 attendees. Its also has a swap meet/flea market where you can find parts, books, tools, accessories. The Fiero show within a show will take place on Saturday June 24th 2023 and MAFOA will feature some other events during that time. Location: Carlisle PA Fairgrounds 1000 Bryn Mawr Rd. Carlisle, PA 17013 https://www.carlisleevents.com/events
UPDATE: Just checked and some Carlisle area hotels are already sold out. If you wish to attend and stay over its a good idea to book something now

Jen: Wow, great job and with Carlisle events featuring the 40th year anniversary of the Fiero . Its beginning to look like MAFOA is now on a roll. An exciting time for Fiero owners with two big events coming up

MAFOA had like 150 Fieros register for Carlisle in 2021, and I think 135 made it.
It would be awesome if we could break that record this year, since Carlisle is putting a lot of effort into show casing the Fiero this year for it's 40th anniversary.
If you are planning to go to the 40th in Michigan, yes, that does make this a tough year for travel and costs, though a sync like this won't happen again for a decade!
It looks like over 100 Fieros will be in attendance for MAFOA and Carlisle Events will have an indoor display in Building T featuring the Pontiac Fiero with both historically preserved models as well as highly modified examples. The dozen Featured Fieros exhibited in buidling T are listed here about half way down. https://carlisleevents.com/...nals?id=gm+nationals ------------------ " THE BLACK PARALYZER" -87GT 3800SC Series III engine, custom ZZP /Frozen Boost Intercooler setup, 3.4" Pulley, Northstar TB, LS1 MAF, 3" Spintech/Hedman Exhaust, P-log Manifold, Autolite 104's, MSD wires, Custom CAI, 4T65eHD w. custom axles, Champion Radiator, S10 Brake Booster, HP Tuners VCM Suite. There are 116 Fieros registered - you can join in on the fun and pre-register at www.mafoa.com/fac2023 by Tuesday, June 19 or register on site. Among these vehicles is the 2+2 Concept Car and some other really amazing builds! We are so excited to welcome back returning attendees, as well as dozens of new ones.
If you registered, you should have gotten a standard letter envelope from Carlisle Events that would have had your car sticker and other paperwork in it already.
If you did not, you can go to the Vendor Services building at the grounds and they can look you up and get you a new sticker and stuff. I think it's 10 bucks for the replacement sticker.
WOW, over 116 Fieros and counting. Carlisle has always been the best regional show in the Eastern/mid-Atlantic area. Its not the great and larger 40th celebration in Michigan but different in that all GM brands are represented and the daily events like the Nitrofest, Manufacturers midway, Tech sessions by GM, Supercar Showroom and automotive flea market set it apart. It would be very unfair for me or anyone else to make a statement on what show is better but will just say that both shows are really great for the Fiero owner. See you at Carlisle.

Just a heads up for anyone coming up 95 from the Richmond VA area towards Washington DC. The constrution of toll / ez pass lanes creates daily delays from the Fredericksburg area that can extend up to the Dale City area. North bound rush hour for this commuter disaster of an area starts around 5 am and if no accidents ends around 9. I'll be leaving the Stafford area (Rt 630 exit 140) around 10 am on Thursday. If anyone wants to meet up drop me a PM. Steve
Last year we used a combo of I-95 and I-81 to go a little further outside of DC. The time added (less than 30 minutes?) was worth not dealing with stop and go traffic. That's likely going to be my plan for this year.

Thats probably the best bet. Looks like rain might be in the forecast and that makes this area even more of a mess.
I'm trying to get an accurate weather 'guess' by the end of the day and will make a go / no go decision on attending because as much as I like Carlisle, I don't like traveling in the rain much less a wet showfield. I do have another quilt to deliver for display at Carlisle and auctioned at the 40th anniversay. This is the 'Road to the FIERO Clubs quilt' with a nod to the 40th anniversary.

I had an unfortunate development today. The transmission in my Fiero is not working. Even "limp home" mode sometimes doesn't work (and sometimes does!), meaning it's either the pressure sensor or a problem with the solenoids.
It's unexpected since we've been putting miles on the car for the past few weekends without any issues. It's a small comfort that this happened today and not in 72 hours, when I would have been on the road.
We're going to focus on getting Mike's 3800 swap finished while we wait for parts for my car. The worst case plan right now is that he'll be able to drive his car to the 40th, and we'll trailer mine. Hopefully we'll both be driving up there.
You're definitely going to be missed Trinten!! We were so excited to see your car!
For those on the fence, we are up to 118 registered Fieros!
Below is an emailed update sent out yesterday:
We are SO excited to see you next week at the 29th Annual Fieros at Carlisle! We have an incredible slate of activities planned and currently there are 116 Fieros pre-registered for the fun!
If you haven't registered for Subs & Swap Meet at the Derr's on Thursday or the Friday night pizza party and wish to do so, please head to www.mafoa.com/fac2023
I hope the last minute prep sessions are going well and that everyone has a safe trip to Fieros at Carlisle 29. If needed, PM me for my #.. Please text first if you are able as I will be juggling a lot of things during this week and may not be able to grab a call as easily. Remember, we do have emergency roadside assistance volunteers so don't hesitate to call.
Please sign up for the "Remind" text message group for this event. This will allow us to push information out to you throughout the event. If you are reading this email on your phone, you can go to this link https://www.remind.com/join/fieros29 to sign up. You can also download the Remind app if you wish to have improved functionality but that is not necessary. If you are reading this on your computer, go to your phone, open a text and send a message to 81010 and in the body of the message type @fieros29 and then send.
Another reminder that we are also in need of volunteers to help the show run smoothly. If you'd like to donate an hour or two of your time during the event, please click here to sign up. If you're willing to help and don't have a preference just let us know how much time and what days you can help. No prior knowledge is required ;-)
Parts/Cars may not be sold on the showfield. You may bring lists of parts and may place a note at the tent if you have a car for sale. Parts can be sold at the hotel and during off-site events. Please also bring a chair for various events including the cookout and parking lot hangout.
Lastly, if you wish to "reserve" your spot on the showfield when you're not there, please bring a cone, bucket or other item to leave in your spot when you leave on cruises or to return to the hotel etc. With the large volume of cars we want to make sure we make things as easy as possible for our volunteers.
I've attached the schedule. Please let me know if you have questions!
Also , if you or anyone else you know would like to donate items to our raffle/auction that raises funds to help put on this event, please let me know as well!
See you soon!!

I'm on the fence on making the trip up to the carlisle show. It'd be to look at cars, maybe get a few souvenirs, etc if we do. Been playing it by ear, since I'll be at the oncologist and have labs the 22nd.
Now... that all said, if we do make that drive up from Georgia, I've been trying to think of anything worthwhile (and without heavy digging) that could be left behind for you guys to use in the fundraiser.
About all I can think of are some GM shop manuals I help onto from new models that had some 3800 tech info, most being series 1 and non s/c based.
Given how far swap culture has progressed, is it likely there is much demand for such things, or, has their time come and gone except for dinosaurs like me?
The prospective trip would be last minute based on a mix of weather, Dr visit outcome, and, how I felt symptom-wise when it was time to go. So it's very 'iffy' at the moment. But as I said, if those mid 1990s manuals would seem desirable, and I do make it, I'd be happy to bring some.

I have been following the weather closely and the forecast keeps shifting. At this point it seems pretty good for Saturday. Looks like only an hour of light rain MAY pass in the morning. I will be heading out Friday afternoon but there may be some rain on that day. . UPDATE: As of this morning Saturday is looking cloudy but with no rain until 7 PM. That's after show time and makes for a nice day to appreciate the show on Saturday. The rain may come on Friday so Thursday may be a better day to travel. With no rain for Saturday, that's good for myself. ------------------ " THE BLACK PARALYZER" -87GT 3800SC Series III engine, custom ZZP /Frozen Boost Intercooler setup, 3.4" Pulley, Northstar TB, LS1 MAF, 3" Spintech/Hedman Exhaust, P-log Manifold, Autolite 104's, MSD wires, Custom CAI, 4T65eHD w. custom axles, Champion Radiator, S10 Brake Booster, HP Tuners VCM Suite. Hey Kenny,
Absolutely! There are still people who utilize 3800 swaps and I'm sure anything would be appreciated! Plus some people collect items like this for posterity.
Hope to see you but more importantly hope the numbers look good!!
Storms on the drive to Carlisle but made it just as the rain stopped. Now 8:42 PM and no rain. The forecast for Saturday shows it will be 82* cloudy and humid with the possibility of showers in early evening. Should be a good day for Fieros at Carlisle so come on down. .
