I reckon it should be in Sydney. We got the Bridge, the Harbour, Bondi Beach, the Opera House, the beer, babes, & bikinis. We can probably get a fair swag of Fieros, too. A cruise down the Putty Road to the Hunter Valley wine region would make a great day / weekend trip and you could stay over for a trip to the Great Barrier Reef or go south to Victoria for a cruise along the Great Ocean Road.
You can bring your Fiero to Australia on a temporary tourism basis is by Carnet De Passages en Douane (CPD carnet).
- Right in the middle of the eastern half of the country. - Big car town (BIG car town) - Road race track - Historic Drag Strip (Beech Bend) - Many National car events are held here so there are lots of "car things" to do. - Lots of Hotels due to all of the car events. - Great country roads for scenic drives - Several vineyards and wineries (one of which I know the owners well) - Home of the Corvette... So we can descend upon the museum and show them a REAL car club! - Visit the Assembly Plant
Tour the Home of Air Force Special Operations, Get our own Blue Angels show (a day when they are practicing their performance at their home station at NAS Pensacola, Armament Museum at Elgin, white sandy beaches, a drive along the coastline, inflatables water park literally in the bay, the best New Orleans shaved ice in the world, McGuires Irish Pub.
There have been lots of good cities/locations suggested, but how many of them have a road course?
Well, were I live we have a: drag track, a road course track (x2) (plus a dirt oval) and nearby town has a paved oval track.
There is also a military base just north of the city that has allowed/rented out their air strip for some IMSA cars to practice on in the past as well (which included this one):

Bowling Green is also pretty centrally located for the entire eastern United States.
And it is a half hour away from the most underrated natural wonder in the country. Everyone should experience Mammoth Cave. It is truly awe inspiring. I know most people don't bring their kids to the Fiero Convention, but if you are looking for a vacation with your kids take them to Mammoth cave. The Grand Canyon is amazing, but kids will enjoy Mammoth Cave more. And it is so big you can take a different tour every day.
A lot of people blew off your original suggestion, but Bowling Green is actually a very good option.

I have never been to one, but don't they include a track event?

I'd love for it to be in Nashville/Knoxville, but there is nothing in middle/eastern Tenn but dirt ovals and drag strips.
We have two tracks with multiple layouts. There’s the Sydney Motorsport Park (https://www.sydneymotorsportpark.com.au/pages/circuits) and the Mount Panorama Track in Bathurst (https://www.mount-panorama.com.au/). Both are a blast to drive.
LS Fest is this weekend at Beech Bend - 30K to 40K will be attending. Next weekend is MoParty (15 to 20K) Two weekends after that is the Ford event (20K to 25K) ....... and that's just in September. Countless local car shows. Lots of GM presence due to Bowling Green Assembly. The corvette big dogs regularly come down for presentations. I get the sense in talking to the Corvette guys that there is actually support for the Fiero. .... The annual Corvette Museum birthday was celebrated last weekend. My coworker who entered said they only had about 300 Corvettes registered in the show. (I was like.... Heck we can do better than that!) Holley is based in down town Bowling Green. (Original location) We might be able to get some support. They sponsor darn near every car event in town including the Track and Beech Bend events.
Again..... lots of car stuff to do.
The one thing that would be difficult anywhere outside of The Detroit area is getting guest speakers. They are getting older (aren't we all!).
The issue is getting a small group of folks who are willing to put in the time to do all the leg work involved in putting on the show. Having the show in a state w/ no club affiliation makes the issue even more difficult. I think that Nashville would be an excellent venue, it would help getting owners from down south up to a show a little easier.
Bowling Green really is a pretty good suggestion. I went to one event there about a decade ago and we did an evening at the dragstrip, plus toured Comp Cams facility there and the Corvette plant and we went to Mammoth Cave. It was a very busy three days. We stayed in Louisville though; maybe that's where the bigger hotels were? But it made for a fun and very fast caravan down the highway to get to B.G.

Need I say more!!!!!!!!
Hey bud!! We went to McGuires when we got married there a few years ago. It was really good too! Is that where you live now?
