In the film, Black Hawk Down, when the soldiers are flying into Mogadishu, there is a little boy on the phone warning the gangs of incoming soldiers. He is wearing a Fiero hat. Thought it was really cool

Hah, there's no mistaking what that is. It's crazy how the clothes we wear make it down into these third-world countries. They'll often get donated and then when people don't buy them here, it makes it to Central America, South America, and parts of Africa... sometimes even South-East Asia (though not as common anymore).

I remember seeing things like this (not Fiero, but other things that only a few people would pick up) in places you'd absolutely never expect.

I hate to say it... but America's "trash" ends up becoming wealth in other countries. Ever wonder where our public school busses end up? Well, if they don't make it into figure 8 racing on ESPN 7, they end up in Central America in what's called a "chicken bus."

Sometimes, for major sporting events (Super bowl, World series, etc.) they print up two sets of tee shirts, with either team as the winner. Half the shirts end up in those areas... Kinda "alternate reality" where the other team won...
