I live in Tampa... so does Randye.

I don't have a 3800 SC Fiero, but I've seen plenty of them... can I help with anything?

I built one about 15 years ago and I just wanted to refresh my memory. Thinking about doing another one but I can't find any of my old pictures.

it's an early v6 dogbone with poly bushings. Any V6 dogbone will work. And a FieroRog's brackets. It all bolts up like stock.

Mine is a bit of a different design comprised of the stock V6 alternator bracket, a GTP dogbone bracket and a tensioner pulley.

This is the best pic I could find.

Because it's aluminum it can fatigue and it actually completely failed on me during the 40th.

I'm not sure how to change it to steel and keep the alternator where it is and still have the belts lined up and that's why I wish mine was steel!

Honestly, it would be worth the upgrade to get Fierorog's low mount alternator bracket and dog bone setup in my opinion.

My 3800 used a non-conventional home brew alternator mount and WCF dog bone mount. The home made low mount setup was a poor design and stressed one of the bolts out and it snapped off in the block one day, thankfully in my garage. I switched it over to Fierorog's setup and it's so much cleaner and durable. Not too mention it's steel and used off the shelf tensioner setup.

One negative would be the you would need to switch to a 3800 style alternator (would most likely be higher output, so that's always good), and get an appropriate length belt, but all of the pulleys should line up just fine. Your setup looks like it was made better than mine was, but let's be honest the stock v6 alternator bracket isn't the sturdiest of things to begin with.
