Hey guys, thanks for watching.

This is a long one... but we wanted to be really detailed with this rebuild since I know this is something a lot of people do, and sometimes screw it up... so hope it helps:

Thanks guys... I appreciate it.

The thing that was really weird for us, was the large O-ring and spacer. She followed the instructions that came with it... but she said it didn't make sense why there was a washer there, but nothing on the top of the O-ring. We looked back at the video and saw that the O-ring (originally) was at the bottom, and the washer was on the top. We thought maybe someone had rebuilt it before (but the injector was GM, etc.), so we popped the injector on two more that we had lying around (a 400, and another 300). In all of them, the rubber O-ring was at the bottom, and the brass washer was on the top... which logically makes a heck of a lot more sense.

No idea why the instructions said to have the washer on the bottom and the O-ring on the top. The washer would serve no purpose whatsoever since the ledge it's sitting on is already the same size as the washer, and the last thing you want is for the O-ring to be able to squeeze past the top, since you could get fuel leaks directly on top of the injector where it connects.

The instructions have to be a mistake... so that's why we put that in there.

She's also super proud of her support for the SEMA Action Network... so she threw that in at the back...

Enjoy viewing AJ's videos. She has a marvelous talent explaining exactly the parts needed and the method of repair. If she lived closer I would gladly hire her to help maintain my collection. I see good things for her in the future. She looks perfect in front of the camera and would be excellent on the 3 Girls Garage, great working in advertising and/or public relations for an automotive performance/specialty parts manufacturer. Maybe a future job w SEMA?

Thanks guys, I really appreciate it.

She got a lot of complaints about the music, but she likes them. In your opinion, what made this video better than the others? Is there something specific about what she's doing or was it the detail?

Thank you!

We both searched the internet, and found a couple of posts on the Chevy S-10 forum, and one post on Reddit. They said it made a huge difference in the "around-town" driving of the Fiero. The S-10 guys said that the intake manifold needed to be bored out to 46mm. I wasn't sure, but Stingray92 measured with a caliper and said that our stock intake ports are 43mm. With the fuel blade in there, it brings it down to 41.5mm. You could easily take the stock intake manifold to a machine shop and have them bore it out 3mm. The fuel blade (if you wanted to keep it), could be bent a little bit to accommodate the larger bore... and you'd end up with like ~45mm with it in there... and it would 100% work.

I'd love to know if someone wants to try it. My daughter's Fiero has the Fiero Store's shorty header... so that MIGHT be something that we do later on down the line since it's already breathing better in the exhaust, but she wants to keep it as stock as possible for right now.

She met with Lauren who's the director of Communications, and she's been really excited to work with them (in an unpaid manner thus far), but it's something... and she can include it on a college application of course. She's already told me that we need to go to SEMA this December. The cool thing is that with her working with SEMA SAN, she'll be given free admission to both shows.

She also loves All Girls Garage. They actually film it up the street from where we live. She's made me drive by the studio (Beneton Productions or something). Man, let me tell you... that place is dumpy around there. It's like in the middle of crack town, which is kind of funny, but it's the ORIGINAL "Two Guys Garage" studio that Sam & Dave went to right after they transitioned from "Shade Tree Mechanics." They film two shows there... All Girls Garage and Two Guys Garage (the current one).

I've got the block it came off of as well it is an original 84 block with the flat tappets, there is a small gouge in the mating surface of the intake manifold which is primarily why i didn't reuse it. The cam is heavily pitted and last time I ran it, it had a miss fire in the 2800 - 3500 range. Was thinking about rebuilding it till I came along the healthier motor. Once I get my project done I'll look more into this motor and develop a plan for it at a later time.
