He hasn't posted here in a while. Like many others they buy a Fiero drive it, work on it , build it, etc have their fun and then they move on. I know about a dozen NJ guys like this. Going back a while there was a guy that was into heavy performance. He did an LT1 TH425 swap. Thinking that he would have the fastest Fiero around he went to the track and ran a 15 in the quarter mile. The next week he sold it and that was it for him. Another guy put a ton of money into his 87 and did the 3800SC swap. The first week he did some donuts and blew up his Getrag. He replaced it and a few days later he went street racing and with one strong power shift, he split the trans case in half. Then he parted the car out to try and recoop some of the money that he put into it. The remains went to the junkyard.
Today I would say the active members here might number 500 but if you look at the membership list there are probably more than 5000 names there. Things like age, retirement, relocation, downsizing, a shift in car interests, marriage and divorce can also affect the hobby.
