I'm not sure I would call it a hoax, just a gross misrepresentation, a non-story like much of the "Main Scream News" regarding Trump.
I read a number of stories about this over the last few days and most of them said that the gap was real because "it did not include this-or-that call, which we reported on last year", and then went on to detail the specifics of each "missing" call, including on which phone it was made.

Really? I just scrolled rather hurriedly down that report in Breitbart. Doesn't it leave open the possibility that Trump and the Trump entourage were using their phones in a particular way on January 6 because they very purposely did not want to have the phone calls documented in the White House Calls Log? Sure, it does leave that possibility open, but that was already a known issue. Still a problem, but less nefarious than purposeful removal.
It takes it from "red hot" to "caution sign." Needs to be reviewed and catalogued, but not quite a smoking gun.
So... is the fearful idea that Trump personally was calling each insurrectionist and saying hey guys good job keep coming in farther , yah atta boy, dont forget to wear your buffalo horns and take selfies!

It honestly makes me feel better that I misunderstood what had happened. It makes me feel better that many people who wrote and read these stories also misunderstood the implications. Why? Because if I was right in my thinking, that this was a clear coverup without question, and nothing was done about it (which I expected nothing would be done), then my faith in the system would be (further) damaged.
As it stands, do I trust Trump more? No. But I will readily and happily say this wasn’t what I thought it was.
