Same company, Grupo Bimbo also owns Sara Lee, and Ball Park buns. Grupo Bimbo is the world's biggest bakery by brands and countries they're sold in..

Yes, it's been a l-o-n-g time since I've heard it, but I do remember that Jim Reeves song very well.

However, just to prove I'm not over the hill (yet) ... I found this newer Bimbo song, and I like it!

I looked into the name when the Mrs Bairds bread sale to Grupo Bimbo was announced some 23 years ago. It was a big blow to Texas, as Mrs Bairds was huge (largest in the USA) and had been here since 1908. (They got fined a few years before the sale..$10 million, for price fixing and settled a different but related lawsuit for $13-$18million.)

I never remember any other brand bread in our household and I still buy only Mrs Bairds.

Lefties are people who advocate for killing babies, and hate HATE white people and real women (especially if they are white people themselves.). They will talk forever about how evil and stupid anyone to the right of them is but want to whine like little spoiled babies when you state that you think they are evil.

By the way, I'm no longer implying anything. I'll outright tell you that I think the current lefties on here are horrible, worthless human beings. I tried for years to talk to them, understand their point of view, but all they have done is attack in return. you can't discuss anything with them. They refuse to have civil discussions.

When the Wife allows me to do her grocery shopping, bread has to be Mrs Baid's Large sliced bread. Good stuff.

You got me to thinking. When I was growing up, Butter Krust was the "brand" to keep on hand. I remember as a kid, on Broadway St in San Antonio, the Butter Krust production factory had a motorized conveyor belt in a large, long picture window. Never ending loafs of bread going from one end to the other like a news feed at the bottom of the news channels.

Butter Krust history. An interesting history.
