That's...not quite where I would go with it. Treason is such a loaded thing to point at anyone, especially based on political criticism. I think society has done a reasonable job of holding accountable those that acted in bad faith while questioning the election. Lawsuits, disbarments, prison sentences and the like were used pretty effectively to respond to bad actors. I think we should continue to respond similarly. Labeling them traitors seems pointless and possibly vindictive. There has been real damage to faith in our electoral system, but while the motivation behind that damage was questionable, our electoral system does deserve scrutiny.
As for the tax cuts, I don't have a problem with fiscal conservativism -though I question it's universal applicability and appropriateness- and a lot of Trump's tax cuts fit in with that. My issue is there's not really any consistency in Trump's policy. Tax increases, tariffs, tax cuts, huge deficit spending, huge corporate bailouts...it just felt like clumsy nationalist, interventionist, policy executed at whim. Hayek and Mises must have spent the entire time rolling around in their graves as people spent 4 years debating it as though it were actual fiscal conservative policy.
COST FOX OVER 3/4 OF A BILLION RUDY AND MANY OTHERS LOST BAR PRIVILEGES AKA THEIR JOBS = LIVELIHOODS NASTY FACE TUCKER LOST HIS JOB AS DID A FEW OTHERS FOR LYING ON TV
CHARGE WAS LYING DECEPTION MAKING UP BS
THIS NOT ASKING FOR A RECOUNT OR A SIMPLE FRAUD CLAIM OR ASKING QUESTIONS
IT IS AN WELL PLANNED ATTACK ON THE SYSTEM with the goal of changing a result
and is still going on today that level of 4 years of lying not any one act or statement adds up to TREASON WITH PLANS AND FINANCE
From page 7, the very first statement at the beginning of chapter one:
quote
1. Unleash American Energy Under President Trump, the U.S. became the Number One Producer of Oil and Natural Gas in the World — and we will soon be again by lifting restrictions on American Energy Production and terminating the Socialist Green New Deal. Republicans will unleash Energy Production from all sources, including nuclear, to immediately slash Inflation and power American homes, cars, and factories with reliable, abundant, and affordable Energy.
That night in 2008, after Sarah Palin gave that "Drill, Baby, Drill" speech, my boss, who owned a trucking company, called me. Neither of us knew anything about her earlier in the day, but at that moment, we knew why she was chosen.
To me, it was one of the best convention moments since Goldwater's 1964 speech.

Republicans have almost always been more nuclear-friendly. I appreciate investment and growth of renewables, and think they're the future (dyson spheres here we come! ok, not that far future but still), but at this point you have to have a more reliable base supply, and that's oil/coal or nuclear, or some mix thereof.
...but nuclear shouldn't get the "and nuclear too!" treatment. It's just so damned short-sighted. Honestly, neither should renewables.
I think the focus on drilling has a sensationality to it; a "screw you hippies!" with a bit of a "and you OPEC jerkoffs too!" sprinkled in. It fits a MAGA platform; it's like a Kid Rock song in a policy. Still, drilling is objectively worse than nuclear. So is coal. Let's be real, so is every reliable source we have access to right now. Ok, now I'm just soapboxing. Sorry.

McCain was ahead in the polls when he chose Palin as his running mate. She was a joke. One of the worst decisions he ever made.
BTW I supported the "maverick" McCain in '00, but by '08 he was broken to lick the boots of the GOP.

That's not really how it played out, though. McCain and Obama got close more than once, but Palin drove McCain's numbers up, especially initially. As...strange...of a politician as she ended up being, she appealed much more broadly to Republicans than McCain, who was centrist.
Trump talked for two hours, told jokes and even sounded like George Carlin for a couple of minutes, made fun of his own hair, it was a classic Trump speech.
Honestly, there's a strong part of me that wants Harris/Walz to win. It would be such a total failure that no Democrat would ever be elected again for at least a decade as everyone would have to come to terms with these policy failures. The only thing is... I question how badly damaged the United States would be at that point. Would there ever be fair elections beyond that point anyway?

they will win the rump is a loser the party that want the gov to fail is not them
your Gop is dedicated to making the gov fail it is their BRAND AND ONLY AMBITION a very self fulfilling proficiency maybe if they would try to get it to work better instead of wanting to drown it in a bath tub they could have better luck at it working for all and not just the 1% who use cash to rig the game
The Democratic party is splintering. Nancy and Joe are at each other’s throats, and Kamala it taking advantage of the fractured leadership and has gone rogue.
They can hear the drums from over the hill and sense that their days are numbered.
As I have said before, they are as dangerous as a cornered bear. Don’t put anything beyond their vicious capabilities.
Yeah, they will get a bump after Chi Town, but then it will be all down hill after that.
So, in the last few days, Trump headquarters were hacked,
Move along, folks. Nothing to see here.
Funny how when Russia hacked the DNC the right claimed it was a sign of incompetence on the part of Democrats. But when a Trump campaign official falls for a simple spear fishing email from Iran there is "nothing to see".
