This happens all the time. Crooks work with other crooks. So the crooks are the ones who testify against the other crooks. Trump could not find any Sunday School teachers to help him with his criminal activity.
That is why the prosecution put on other witnesses to substantiate the credibility. The checks were written. The money was paid. All for the benefit of Trump.

Dems were wrong to claim that it was from Russians. Reps were wrong to claim it contained proof of corruption by Joe Biden. It was a big nothing that should not have had any influence on the election.
Republicans have no one but themselves to blame for how easy it was to deflect the laptop as potentially fake. It suddenly appeared right before the election just like in the previous election where the Russians leaked info just before the election and Comey fired up a bogus investigation of Hillary's laptop. it looked just like the same old song and dance all over again.
