MEXICO CITY, May 31 (Reuters) - Mexico's election is now the bloodiest in its modern history after a candidate running for local office in central Puebla state was murdered on Friday at a political rally, taking the number of assassinated candidates to 37 ahead of Sunday's vote.
This is why meaningful political discourse is all but dead here.
Is there such a thing anymore - meaningful political discourse? How does one talk to an American hating Liberal that's bent on turning this great country into Venezuela or East Germany?
The stabilization of Mexico's economy is a good thing, it has been abysmal throughout my entire adult life. Seeing the inflationary period of the eighties was a huge eye opener for many.

I would have much preferred Galvez. That would have been a positive sign and step in the right direction.
