Don't know if you guys are watching, but his assistant is reading off the EOs while Trump signs them.

So far he's signed:

- Elimination of Birthright Citizenship
- Declaring Drug Cartels as Terrorist Organizations
- Securing the Southern Border
- Full pardon for all J6ers except 6 (which he's looking into)
... and dozens more, as we speak.

Yup. It is amazing.

He also has his people ready to go. No repeat of 2016 when the Obama holdovers did everything they could to sabotage him.

I enjoyed watching history. Of the Executive Orders you mentioned, while signing, he also took every question from every reporter. More than Biden had done in four years.

I sincerely doubt the "Elimination of Birthright Citizenship" will stand up before the courts.
I also don't agree with every J6er being pardoned regardless of what they did. That's just my opinion; I wasn't asked.

A list of all the EOs signed. It is worth a read. President Trump took questions and answered them as he signed each one.

But the Anti-Defamation League, an organisation founded to combat antisemitism, did not agree.

"It seems that Elon Musk made an awkward gesture in a moment of enthusiasm, not a Nazi salute," it posted on X.

Unlike many of the Trump supporters here, I'm not afraid of linking to an article that mentions both sides of an argument. Since one side has now been quoted, here's the other.

Ruth Ben-Ghiat, a history professor at New York University, said: "Historian of fascism here. It was a Nazi salute and a very belligerent one too."

I suspect that Elon Musk is simply a bit off his rocker, but people can draw their own conclusions at his odd behavior.

I have no idea how SCOTUS will rule on it but the EO does fit with existing precedence: US vs Wong Kim Ark 1898. In that case both parents were lawful legal residents. SCOTUS ruled that because of that, their child was a US citizen under the 14th Amendment.

Great analysis in plain words in this video

I love this EO. The scumbags that put out the memo saying the Hunter Biden laptop was a Russian disinformation campaign had their security clearance permanently revoked. They lied to blatantly affect the election. Bolton got his security clearance pulled too.

To be completely honest, I doubt most of them still even had active clearances. All but maybe 5 of them look retired anyway. I think it was mostly symbolic, but still glad he did it.

It seems that what’s really being challenged is the ability to bring the entire family in, just because someone sneaks over and has a baby. Seems like everyone else would be forced to go home.

Ah, you have never learned how to salute. You salute superior officers and then they salute you back. Only then can stop saluting.

Many high ranking intelligence officers retain their security clearance after retirement because they are often called up for advice and analysis. They also often call their old contacts that are still active and "chat" with them on current events. Take away their security clearance and they lose both their access to classified data and their ability to influence current intelligence officers.

Don't forget Sandy Berger. He went to the National Archives and stole classified documents after he had left government service. His security clearance allowed him to access those documents.

Not only that, but it is also customary to give a greeting. That is why actual Nazis said, "sieg heil" (hail to victory) or, "heil Hitler" (hail Hitler). Additionally, salutes are directed at a person or thing, such as a flag, casket or grave. You don't just randomly throw out a salute to a crowd of people.

Military vets know this. Civilians who don't know military customs or courtesies don't really know what a Nazi salute is.

I think you're talking about the "White" IC badge as opposed to the other two colored badges. Trump actually did away with those on his first term, in late 2020. The reason he did this was specifically because of General Alexander. He was coming in and out at will at NSA and poaching employees for his company (I forget the name) that he started after he left the agency. There was a similar high-ranking official who did this at the Pentagon, so Trump put an end to it.

For the most part though, it was relegated to really high-level officials like which basically included former directors and some high-functioning former seniors.

I know you know this... but for others, what many of these people would often do though, is leave the government, and then work for some defense contractor. These people had a lot of "intelligence" that would benefit business development in potentially winning contracts, but they largely didn't have much other use to the company beyond that (as the higher you go up, the less useful you become in the private sector beyond winning contracts). Trump also instituted rules (that Biden never overturned) which required you to officially be part of a contract in order to retain a clearance. So... these companies would try to find a contract they could put them on, so they could still talk back and forth with these organizations when they could schedule something.

Just looking at their pictures though... I'd be willing to bet that most of them are retired and likely (at best) part of committees. I only saw a few of them that looked like they're even close to 40... and those are the ones that'll be really hurt by this. Having your clearance actually revoked is a huge red flag, and you basically can never get another clearance again. But... that's the price for lying based on political nonsense. j

The other people on that list, they probably don't care. They're so irrelevant at this point that they probably didn't even have a clearance anymore.

What some consider damage, others consider progress. It's important to remember that just about everything (that I can think of) DJT has done in his first week was in keeping with his campaign promises. The US Population/Voters overwhelmingly supported DJT in his re-election bid. While some may not approve of DJTs policies and decisions, those decisions reflect what he said he'd do.

I personally don't agree with parts of the J6 decision and part of DJT's offer to restore ranks/promotions and backpay for members of the military who refused the COVID vaccinations and have posted what I thought online on this forum previously. Very few will be happy with every decision but, he's keeping his word on what he said he'd do. You have a valid point about a "honeymoon period", that has always been the case with every elected leader. But I suspect that "honeymoon" will go much longer than the one Biden had.

Remind me, I honestly don't remember if I ever knew, when will Canada get new leadership? I suspect that leader will also have a honeymoon not only with his/her own population but, with the US.

It's obviously a waste of time telling you anything.

That should allay your concerns.

Damn... I had a picture of Justin Trudeau that someone used AI to make him a woman. It was alarmingly good, and he (she) actually looked kind of hot, which disturbed me greatly. I was going to make a joke about the honeymoon... but can't find the picture... so I'll just leave this weird post for everyone to give me weird emojis in response.

I saw a comment to an article I read earlier today that pretty well sums it up.

'Trump's first term exposed the cancer, his second term will cure it.'

Works for me.

Godspeed, Mr. President.

Yet we all try. As you claim, fruitless. Perhaps not.
