States should 100% fund and control the education in all state ran schools. The FEDs should not be managing any of it.
Larger states should not be able to dictate to smaller states how to run the education system by manipulating the DOE The only thing the FEDs should be doing is setting standards and letting the states figure it out.

The tax money apportioned for each student per district should follow the student to the school of the parent's choice, providing that school teaches to the standards set by that States government.

If the government is collecting taxes to provide for education, that education system should be the best that it can possibly be. Our current public educational system hasn't come close to meeting that criteria, and our students testing scores are proof of that. Charter and religious school students score much higher than public school students.
Having the money follow the students allows school choice without penalizing taxpayers who send their children to better schools, and allows lower income taxpayers the ability to enroll their children in better schools.
It's a win for the taxpayers, and eventually a win for the public school systems as they will be forced by competition to improve their product.
But, you do you, and be against anything that improves the future of the next generation of taxpayers.
Why should you care, you won't be around to watch a real-world version of 'Dumb and Dumber'.
