Not suppressed enough to affect the elections. That is what the democrat saying about vote cheating. There does not need to be wide spread cheating to cancel my vote. One cheater would do it.
Although I agree with them, I suspect this won't be upheld. The states generally have authority on elections; however, the Federal government does have some authority on how FEDERAL elections are performed. So, I'm a little torn on how this will play out.
My personal opinion, I do think mandating that mail-in ballots be received BY election day, and counted on that day, and the proof of citizenship thing will have an effect on all future elections that are negative towards Democrats. The 2020 election likely would not have been won by Biden if it weren't for the exceptionally lax election rules that were illegally changed regarding mail-in ballots in all the swing states. I do also think there's more non-citizenship election fraud than we lead on to... though I think it happens far more predominantly in Democrat-leaning states, and is likely quite rare in Republican states.
all votes, mail in or walk in should be cast and counted before the end of election day. Mail in votes were counted early and then walk in votes were counted till the end of election day if I recall correctly.
When I was in the Navy years ago we were able to mail in our vote, it had to be mailed in before a deadline so it would be there before the end of election day. There is no reason why votes are not able to be cast that way. I don't like mail in votes but I don't see them going away here in CA. But there is no reason why anyone cant get this done way before the end of election day.

I agree... I'm just not sure of the legality of this being defined by executive order. At a minimum, something like this would need to be legislated... but I also need to re-read the Constitution. Too lazy to look it up right now, but I think they specifically define the day (by calendar / November) etc., in our original founding. But there's more in there that grants the states the right to manage elections as they generally see fit.
Clearly, I have opinions on it though, and they align with yours... just not sure how constitutional it is necessarily.

While I my be mistaken, I believe that once this is challenged in the courts and denied by lower courts it could/should end up at SCOTUS (although an Appeals Court may make it right). An affirmative decision anywhere up the line would in fact make it the law of the land. Feel free to correct me if I'm mistaken.
