So for a very long time i have wanted a 3800sc fiero... and when I got another fiero a while ago I started looking for a motor and trans..

well i happend upon a man who had a 3800sc series 2 mated to a 5 spd, in a fiero already

and today i bought it!

Here's my car, 86 SE v6 auto T-Tops

and here is the parts car, its in rough shape

the parts car was actually a functional fierarri for most of its life. but someone went about swapping in the 3800sc and gave up. the newest owner stripped the body kit off it and sold me the husk and the body panels from the car he is putting the body kit on

So this will be a fairly slow thread until funds become more available, luckiliy the swap in the parts car is actually about 70% complete. all i can see thats left is the wiring, coil pack mount, alternator/dog bone, fuel lines, heatercore lines, and tidying things up.

my plan is to get it running in the parts car then switch everything over to my car when its ready

That list of things you need should cost less than taking your girlfriend out for dinner at your favorite fast food restaurant.

yes, but there's a lot of stuff i want to do before the motor goes into my car, like new bushings, a cam, and some other stuff. I'm still trying to decide if i want to tackle the wiring or ship it out.

but rest assured by early spring it will be running and functioning.

that block of wood was expensive that is a high quality piece of hardware, good for at least 27 hp to the roots uhm wheels.

"Akghandi" Interesting screen name. What's the meaning? Ak, has the stigma of the firearm attached to it, not that I think it's a bad firearm, and we all know who Ghandi is. Ghandi was all about peaceful protest, so it seems kind of contradictory. Almost like a "peace through arms" kind of screen name, but I'm probably over thinking it.

Indeed you are overthinking it. Ak for Alaska and ghandi is an ironic nickname i got in middle school. I cant got very long without eating and im not very good at conflict resolution

Also i spell ghandi wrong. Gandhi is propper spelling

If you are going to ship the wiring out hit me up - http://reddevilriver.com

I don't think I have sent a harness to AK yet.

I find it interesting that (in my experience anyway) Alaskans have to have AK somewhere in user names. All my brother in laws' gamer tags start with AK and my wife's email address has is in there too.

I have pretty much decided I'm going to tackle the wiring myself, mostly because I'm poor.
If I get more money soon I may consider it, but aside from not knowing how im going to rearrange the harness to make everything look neat and mount the pcm in the trunk i pretty much have it figured out.

i will be asking alot of questions here though. while I'm good at wiring i dont have any experience merging engine harnesses.

So i got the 2 pcms that came with the car, and turns out they will both work with this swap. bonus!

I'm going to be starting on my harness soon, im going to pull the motor from the parts car and get the harness laid out and stripped, ive been researching the harness build as much as i can but please feel free to post any links that you think might help me

I'd also like to hear about how you mounted your pcm and where you mounted it, I'm thinking in the trunk where the blower fan would be so i can mount a subwoofer in the center console.

thank god i have 2 fiero harnesses so i can mess one up lol

If its a 98 or later pcm it will fit behind the center console. That's where mine is.
But since you want a subwoofer there, you can mount it in the trunk somewhere.
I've also seen it mounted where the battery goes after it has been relocated.
