The hardest part of making the sideburns is matching the left side to the right side.

Again I got the base blend first and added a skim coat of filler, then added the foam blob to start the lower rocker detail.

The shaping went pretty good, did not have to re-foam anything.

After much sanding and filling I think they are ready for glassing. I've been trying to decide to make a splash mold now or after I get it glassed and smooth again.

While I have been putting a layer on the sideburns I started in on fixing the many cracks from the shipping damage on the front clip.

One of the largest damaged area is the pivot bar area. There were 2, 6 inch rips where the nose took a hit. After grinding away at glass to prep it for repair found it was really thin in a place were high stress occurs at the hinge. it looks to be about 1/8 of glass and then the polyester bulker, then a thin mat or chop spray on top. Added about 1/4" of mat to the effected ripped areas.

I still have to do the outside cracks.

I will be building up the front fenders with foam to make IMSA style fenders, in preperation I sanded the 3/8 to 1/4 thick bondo off the fenders untill I found fiberglass. It looks like they uses a thin wood strip to form the wheel arch.

More to come.

Work continues on repairing the cracks.

Digging out the delaminated glass with a rotary tool from the back side.

Around the light bezels.

The last big one on the nose, about 7 inches long.

I need a little more arch in the front wheel well.

I also need some more width to cover the front tires.

At this point the front track is wider then the stock fiero by about 6 inches. I need to finish up the sideburns and get them installed before start on the fender flares.

Nothing new yet to post other then its not dead, just paused while I recovered from spinal surgery. As any fiero fanatic knows you spend a lot of time bent over working on these things.

While it's still cool here I'm itching to finish on the foam and glass work.
