My name is Nick and I am Tyler's friend. I do not own a fiero now, but I did own one in the past and I was with when Tyler bought his white GT. I don't own a fiero, but I am definitly interested in them!!!
Today I went and saw Tyler and he actually is doing alright. I brought him a SnowGoer and Hooters Swimsuite Mag. He seemed to like that He is showing some signs of progress, but he has a long tough road infront of him. He is getting great care and seems to be comfortable. Also some cute nurses (so he says)
The other day he told me he wanted to get his fiero done. So I have started talking to some people around town and I think we have the body work taken care of. We do need some help with some parts and wow by the looks of it you guys are really stepping up to help!!!! That will be very much appreciated! I also see that some of the members are somewhat local (MN atleast) and that will really help out too!
I will try and get some pictures on Monday and post them up. That will tell us the most. What I know we need for sure is a Front Bumper. This one was bad when he got it and he has always wanted to replace it. There are a couple molding pieces on the Passenger's side (gray/black) that are needed. I will have to get some pics. Also the rear tail light lens is cracked up. The rear window is also broken. I think it could use a couple injectors. Tyler had to replace a couple of those already a while back, but it is acting up again. From what I hear it is kind of a pain to replace them. It would be really awesome if we could just put in a whole new set and be done with it. I do have a diagnostic computer and I should have the hook ups, but I have only done the OBDII cars. I have a Snap On M2500 (I think) it is the "Red Brick" I will talk to some more local people see if they can maybe help out with diagnosing to make sure it is infact a fuel problem.
The tires are good on the car The power window on the passenger side quite working (will need to look into that) Leather seats are in rough shape
The car does need some minor body work (spoiler needs to be painted and I assume when we find a front bumper it will need to be as well) I have a guy that will help with that, but we will need to buy the paint.
I am really amazed how great you guys have opened up to help Tyler. He really loves his car and he really loves fiero's I refer to him as "the fiero lovin sob" He really wants to get this car going and I think with your help and a little elbow grease we can get this car back in tip top shape.
Thank you guys very much lets get this car done for Tyler!
The bottom part of the car is the rockers, they take a lot of beating but they are one part so they should be easy to install once you find them. If you were closer I would give you a set but I bet someone close has a set.
Its great that you are helping your friend, I hope things work out for him. Jake
I have a full set of nearly new stock fuel injectors which came out of my son's 88 Fiero GT which I'll gladly donate. They only have a couple thousand miles on them and are in Perfect condition.
Send me your address or Post it here and I'll send the injectors out immediately.

Tyler, my thoughts and prayers are with you. I think you posted in the right place for help, as this Fiero community, here on the forums, is simply amazing. I am not much in a position to be able to help with parts, but I will do what ever I can.
- I just fired off an email to Mr. Mike asking if he can help with a pair of seat covers for the car.
- I was wondering how to set up a PayPal account, or some other way for donations to be made, as a way for forum members to make donations to help cover parts and supplies that no one has on hand. (Could be used to cover the cost of the paint mentioned in a previous post). I am ready to make a donation as soon as something is in place.
- I have contacted the FieroStore to see if there is any assistance that they can provide.
- I would like to contact some of the local news stations to see if the are interested in doing a Human Interest story on this.
If anyone else coordinating something, please email me at JohnWPB -AT- Gmail dot com. This way we can tackle it together, and keep everyone updated.

I also just contacted their local area newspaper with links to this page, his journal page, a variety of photo's from that page, info on the fund raiser on November 15th, and the info for the local bank that is taking donations under his name. I compiled all of this for them in the hopes of them doing a human interest story.
I also enhanced the photo of Tyler in the car, so you can actually see him in the car now

I own a 1984 Fiero SE, and have owned as many as 2 at one time.
Moorhead, MN is about 65 miles from Tyler. I spend some time in the winter on snowmobile there as well.
Lynxer on here is a friend of mine (Sad i know) and I am a Auto Dealer Mechanic.
I am willing to help where ever I can. I am not a body man, but I can install body parts, just not able to do the refinnish part.
I see someone on here has a set of injectors they are willing to send out. I can install them, as well as most other stuff needed to get this job done.
We need to inspect the car, get a list of parts needed and talk to Tyler and see what he really wants done. I hear if all goes well for Tyler, he will get out of the hospital tomorrow. (11-3-2009) This will give us a chance to evaluate what is needed.
I know there are a couple others in the area prolly willing to help out, they just need to be recruted.
Here is a pic of Tyler I found online.
Yup, fishing is good here in MN.

Tyler, Our thoughts and prayers are for you and your complete recovery. I wish I could have come up and helped you get your car fixed but couldnt get away from work. If you are up to it sometime in the future and want to take a trip down to Des Moines I would be glad to donate a spare 3.4 DOHC for your car and will build a wiring harness for the swap.
We are praying for you brother for a full recovery. Also wish I could have been there for the build, but did join in on the chat.
The car looks great!

There had better be some curves on heaven's roads, because "straight and narrow" just isn't going to cut it, now that Tyler's up there.
This is very tragic and sad news. Eighteen years of age is just too short a time to walk on this earth. The outpouring of good wishes and good will that has been expressed on this post should say alot about how many members here care. The fact that local Fiero people stepped in and gave Tyler his wish is very touching. Alll of you good people that did this good deed are blessed and I believe will be rewarded with the Lords kindness. All we can do at this point is to offer our prayers, express our sincerest condolences and heartfelt sympathy to the Shipman family. R.I.P. buddy!
