Have been driving my '88 Formula with 58,000 miles for a year now and getting a Code 32 every day.
Finally got tired of that Service Engine Soon (SES) light and pulled the EGR solenoid off and apart.
After repair documented below, I have been SES-free for 2 weeks now.
First checked the two terminals closest to the mounting bracket and got "infinity" Ohms - an open coil.
Then did initial disassembly. Everything looking pretty good, right?

Then this mess

Noticed the broken (corroded off) magnet wire right away

Cleaned up the corrosion with "The Must for Rust" from Home Depot.
Stripped the magnet wire with 1000-grit sandpaper, cut back and stripped insulated leadwire.
Soldered magnet wire to leadwire.
Ohms-checked several times along the way and always got 96.4 Ohms.
Stuffed soldered connection into recess and encapsulated/waterproofed with Plumber's Goop.
Wrapped coil with heavy-duty package tape - one wrap.

Put everything back together and sealed the tube and the rubber cover with Goop to prevent moisture entry.
Hope this helps/encourages someone else to repair his or her EGR Solenoid.
