One of the best things you can do for yourself, is to eliminate as many variables as you can, good luck..
today when I had some time at the end of the day I played with the fiero and tried to figure out why the tachometer is not working and it looks like my new tach has craped out on me but with the weather getting better I am starting to get more interested in getting this out on the road so I will start working on it again bit by bit
today at lunch I played with the shifting linkage getting it working right I was tempted to take it out for a ride as it was so nice out but I need to get the seat belts in and the seats bolted down along with a few other odds and ends
today I fooled with the trunk latch and got that working now only if the weather would change I was not happy to get about 20 inches of snow when it was almost all gone
I think I cursed myself by putting the snowblower in the shed. I had to get it back out on thursday and again today. I left it in the garage this time but maybe we have seen the end of the snow according to the forecast.
well I am ready to take the car out for a ride soon so I hope this is the end of it as I have worked on this car enough now I need some smile time with it even though it is not completely done
well good weather is coming i figure by the end of April i will bring it out on the road for a drive i wish i could have some one finish the interior as it is going to be lacking but as long as i can get it out on the road i will be happy
well i final got the info from Sptronics on what i had wrong with the tach output it needed to be on Js4 now i have a working tach i feel this ECU is a good deal i did have a bit of troubles at first but now it seems to be all good it cost me like $240 all shipped to me it has blue tooth and works with Megasquirt software for tuning www.sptronics.com now only if it would get nice out i could take the car for a ride today's weather is sleet and freezing rain how nice is that lol.
Today i tried to take the fiero for a ride but it is acting like it is running out of fuel although it did run right for a few second and wow the car started going sideways out in the street and i was Not trying to do that just was tickling the accelerator peddle to pick up speed it caught me off guard as i was not expecting it to spin the rears and stepping sideways i know one thing if when i get it running right it is going to be a Animal i mean really fast
Today i found a ground wire that got pulled out of it's eyelet so i repaired it and it seemed to run better but i won't really know until i take it for a ride
mounted some side view mirrors today with led blinkers in them just need to wire them up . we are getting some rain right now otherwise i would take it out for another test ride to see if i have repaired the issue with it .
well worked on getting the car to run and i think i figured out what i screwed up and it was when generating the fuel map i was screwing up on converting boost and vacuum to kpa but today i looked at that and figured it out i think i will test the car tomorrow as i only loaded it tonight and ran the engine but didn't take it for a ride yet but it sounds better kPa - vacuum/Boost 0 - 29.5 5 - 28.1 10 - 26.6 15 - 25.1 20 -23.6 25 - 22.1 30 - 20.7 35 - 19.2 40 - 17.7 45 - 16.2 50 - 14.8 55 - 13.3 60 - 11.8 65 - 10.3 70 - 8.9 75 - 7.4 80 - 5.9 85 - 4.4 90 - 3.0 95 - 1.5 100 - 0.0 105 - 0.7 110 -1.5 115 - 2.2 120 - 2.9 125 - 3.6 130 - 4.4 135 - 5.1 140 - 5.8 145 - 6.5 150 - 7.3 155 - 8.0 160 - 8.7 165 - 9.4 170 -10.2 175 - 10.9 180 -11.6 185 - 12.3 190 - 13.1 195 - 13.8 200 - 14.5 205 - 15.2 210 - 16.0 215 - 16.7 220 - 17.4 225 - 18.1 230 - 18.9 235 - 19.6 240 - 20.3 245 - 21.0 250 - 21.8

Today i took the car for a short drive in the rain and it is way better it still has a bit of a bog in the lower rpm's but it is better i am going to need to drive it more and do some logging and tuning i might need more accelerator pump shot to get past that stumble .

I know one thing the car feels fast and i know it is not going to be the fastest or as fast as some of those turbo 3800 v6 cars but i am sure it will catch allot of those Mustangs , Corvettes & Camaros off guard it is going to be fun.
Thanks RCR i think it is good enough to drive it now i pulled out allot of accelerator enrichment and made a new fuel map it seems to not stumble like it was from going way to rich i am going to try and take it for a ride at lunch tomorrow .
Well today i pulled the engine and timing cover and all of the pulleys looked fine but the belt looks like it stretched out and it was a new belt i will make sure i find the best belt i can get as i don't need this to happen again
Ok today i had a chance at lunch to get the Audi engine back together for the Fiero and check it for bent valve buy using compressed air and it is all good nothing leaking by at the valves
Tomorrow the engine will be back in and running as i scheduled the whole day for my own car i really want to go to the first car show of the season with the car even if it is not 100 percent done but i do want to get it out there and show it off a bit
You had to pull the motor to change the belt?! Im not doing that swap. Still waiting for a video of the car. Driving perpendicular to the street w insane amount of tire smoke coming off the back. Yeah buddy!
Well i didn't just work on my car today like i wanted but i did the second half of the day but i did get it in and hooked up i even tried to start it but it turned over really slow so i put the charger on the battery i hope that is what is wrong as the engine felt fine when tuning it over with a wrench
