Have any of you, or anyone that you know of, put a 90-91 style trans am spoiler on a notchback fiero? If not could anyone get measurements on how long and wide they are? If it doesnt work I may just modify one with fiber glass...
Yeah I don't think it'll fit. When I had my Firebird the spoiler was a lot longer on the sides. The standard dual-pedestal F-body spoiler (the one on the red car) will fit just fine - although it'll look super small on a Fiero - but the wrap-around is a bit large and hangs off the sides of the car.
If you want something similar that actually fits a Fiero, look to a Dodge Shadow or a fox-body Mustang.
This is a 93 Mustang spoiler, as I recall. Requires a minimum of modification to install. Probably not quite as nice a flow as the Trans Am version, but works pretty well and has the third brake light.
One of the guys up in Canada with the really nice orange 4.9 car (fourpointnine?) has a 91 Z28 wing - the tall one - on the decklid of a notchie. It's width is perfect for the Fiero. Since the thirdgen Firebird and Camaro use the same hatch panel, I'm thinking that the FB spoiler should work okay. The wide, flat T/A wing pictured above may be too big, front to back, to fit on a notchie, but I think it would look good, otherwise. It can probably be altered fairly easily. I think it was made of fiberglass. The earlier wraparound T/A spoiler was made of urethane. Just about impossible to do anything with.
Grab yourself a mustang saleen wing off of the convertible or trunk style fox body mustangs... That is what was on Kurt Mylers car and that is what is on my car... Along with a mustang hood scoop molded into the decklid to vent my 3.8sc....Looks effin sweet.. But I am biased its my car...
Funny how I came across this thread and someone put a Mustang wing on their Fiero. Last night a buddy of mine picked up a Roush wing for his 01 V6 Mustang. I tried it on the Fiero and it came out OK but it will need a bit of work to make it work. It looked like a Porsche wing.
