If you for sure have power to the socket and the bulbs are good, you have a problem with the ground return some place. Larry

Bump i need expert advice about the c500 connector by the battery seems like that is the connector ???? so do i just splice two wires into the
Lt.green wires to the reverse light switch and connect the two wires together by the shifter where the original 4 speed back up light switch would be ????????

The cleanest way to do it is to run two wires from the switch on the transmission to the C500, but you need to run your new wires into the C500. I don't recall what the pin positions were, but Phonedawgz is the guy to talk to. He gave me the instructions with the wires and pigtail to do mine, nice and clean and works great. Unfortunately I didn't save the paper he sent, but I'm sure he can lead you down the right path.

Yes, the C500 is by the battery. I got a pigtail to connect to the switch on the transmission and ran two wires (blue and green) around the back of the trunk area to the C500 by the battery. It probably took me less than an hour including zip tying all the wires up nice and clean. I got the pigtails/wiring from Phonedawgz for about $30 IIRC, and just to buy the pigtail locally was over $20.

Here's a picture of the C500 when it's disconnected and the small nylon piece (TPA - Terminal Position Assurance) you'll need to remove in order to punch in the new wires, which you can see lying in behind the C500 by the battery

OK, I stand corrected. I went through my papers and I did save it! The blue wire (Power) goes to C1 on the C500 and the Green goes to E1.

I completely left the wires inside the car alone and ran 2 new wires from the transmission on the left side of the car all the way around the trunk to the C500 on the right side. I thought about tapping into the wires by the shifter, but thought it would be better to wire it the way it was intended for the 5 speed cars. You could tap into the wires in the area around the shifter, but then you would have to bring them through the firewall, which means tearing down your console and fishing wires though. If you go from the tranny switch to the C500 you are completely in the engine compartment and it takes a LOT less time to do it that way.

If we had been lucky enough to have the '86 instead of the '85, apparently the wiring harness has both so it would have been plug and play. But, best make do with what we have.

Yep

$25 shipped for the reverse connector and wires set up to plug into C500 (the two terminals are different sized also) to your reverse switch. Disconnect C500, pull the fork out of the side, dig the goop out a bit and slide the terminals into C500. Then replace the fork and reattach C500. Now work the wires into your existing harness to your reverse switch. The standard path is down and then across the front of the lower part of the engine, along with the VSS wires.

paypal to gofast@reddevilriver.com if you are interested.
