Been contemplating recovering my Fiero seats. I installed a nice seat of Sunfire seats on a temporary basis, but would like to get the Fiero seats back in ... much better shape and support. I prefer cloth to leather and have also looked at Mr. Mikes seat covers. They are currently $429/set plus any additional engraving http://mrmikes.com/fierocloth.htm The alternative is IGGEE seat covers http://www.iggee.com/MSProd...m=Pontiac*Fiero*1986 They come in gray suede and are about half the cost of Mr. Mike's. My interior had about three different shades of gray/charcoal so I painted all the interior panels with SEM gray (the lighter shade). I'd probably go with the #40 gray as displayed in the IGGEE website link. I know that Mr. Mike's seat covers have had a lot of positive response, but I've also seen several positive replies regarding IGGEE's seat covers. Looking for any, any all, replies from the forum. Thanks in advance.

I have a set of Mr. Mikes leather in my 88 GT,

http://imageshack.com/a/img812/7466/1000987p.jpg

and some custom made cloth seats in my 87 GT.

http://imageshack.com/a/img268/1616/lqc5.jpg

A bit darker than the originals, but the fabric texture is similar.

Doesn't Mr. Mike also offer a cheaper set of seat covers? Ones that go over existing upholstery? Doesn't he also do cloth covers? They may be cheaper than the price you posted if it happens to be the leather cover price.

The difference is that the Iggee seat covers are just that.....seat covers. Mr. Mike's is an upholstery REPLACEMENT, not a seat cover. Mr. Mike's comes with hog rings, pliers, video, and other equipment.

If you are looking for custom fit seat covers just to keep your factory fabric clean, Iggees will work fine. For a permanent upholstery replacement where the factory seat upholstery is completely replaced, Mr. Mike's is the way to go.

Looks like they would be limited as far as recline-ability. Do those "ears" get in the way?

They will lay all the way to the back wall. the only thing i have done since this pic is remove the inboard adjuster on the hump side. They have them on both sides and ya only need one. they clear the console and side by almost 1/4 inch. if you slot your track you can gain more adjustment. They set just as low as the fiero seat and come with 4 chrome shims just incase you want to raise the front of the bottom up. I didnt adjust mine any. and i have clearance for the e brake too. If you buy a set ill take a pic of the mount for you with measurements. you drill one hole in fiero track on the rear and use the factory hole on the front. then a cross bar bolts across it. factory measurement is 13 5/8 these seats are 15 5/8. Seriously took 30 min to mount them.
Dont get me wrong, Mr Mikes seats are the best there is for the factory seats, you dont stay in buisness that long if their not. My seats had covers over them and just completly broken down, beyond the Mr mikes illustrated repair on the sides and bottom. Id of had to just start with another set of seats then recover. but found these and had to have them, Glad i did now.

I've seen a bunch of pics like this where the covers seem to be too loose. Is this a matter of your foam being broken down or missing or is it a manufacturing problem? Maybe the look could be improved with some padding added in onto the backs of the covers?

I put the Iggees in my '85 GT, and although I don't think they compare to the Mr. Mikes, they were great bang for the buck and don't look at all like seat covers.

Mr. Mike supplies cotton padding to "fix" any broken down foam.. The photo of the leather seats was taken as I finished the installation of the covers. They needed more "slapping" to get them into shape. The cloth upholstery seat, I took over to Mr. Mikes and paid him to do the installation. It took him about an hour and a half and no struggle on my part.

Those seats look great and IMO upgrade the interior appearance. At $273 delivered for a pair they are a good buy. How do you rate the quality of the vinyl used? Is it heavy, stiff, soft, like simulated leather or OEM????.

How does the weight of those after-market seats compare to stock seats?

I also got some IGGEEs, they look good, but not awesome like Mikes. But then they were only $170. It really depends on what your value/cost expectation is. For a daily driver or a kids car like my Fiero the IGGEEs are perfect.
