I don't know what you're referring to..."silicone paste", but the heat sink compound used in computers is what you want.

I used this stuff available at Best Buy. It is a silicone like you get with the ICM but it is filled with metal oxide particles to improve heat transfer. Seems to be working OK so far and it was very easy to spread, much in contrast to the heat sink compound I had gotten at Radio Shack a few years ago.

The factory service manual specifies: "apply silicone lubricant between module and base for heat dissipation."

Thanks for the responses; I'll get some computer stuff.

Thanks Pondski.

I'm going to get the SuperLube stuff from Home Depot (online only).
Their system is down right now, but it looks like $9.99 + 13% tax + $5.04 delivery = $16.33.
Pick-up in store is not available here for on-line orders.

There are so many choices for computer pastes, some negative reviews for some & no silicone stuff that I saw.

Radio Shack RIP!

I now usually go to Micro Center for my thermal paste.
