I am thinking of buying the modular pulley from zzp . Is there anyway to remove the stock pulley wothout buying the $110 pulley puller? Does anyone have one they could lend or rent me?
I may buy a press on 3.5" pulley but the modular system is like $100. I guess either way I would need the puller to install the press on pulley or the modular hub.
Please PM me if you have a puller to loan or rent out. Or if you have a 3.5" pulley to sell.

Thanks,
Louis

No way that I know of to remove and replace the supercharger pulley without the puller/installation tool. There was a guy in my area a while ago that had one and he installed my pulley but I lost touch with him. Try to find shops that have worked on cars with Eatons or check out those forums. Eaton Superchargers are used on Ford Mustangs, Chevy Cobalt's, Impala SS models, Buick Rivera's , Pontiac Bonneville's and Pontiac Grand Prix. There should be many people in your area, with the means to change the pulley. A Mustang shop or performance enthusiast might be in your area. Try Realspeed Automotive . They are on LI near MacArthur airport.

Not sure this will work but most parts store have a loan a tool program and have all sorts of specialty tools like power steering pump pulley pullers, would that work or maybe they have one for the supercharger. you just give them a deposit and get it back when you return the tool.

Call a couple of different parts store chains as some loan things others do not.

You could remove the snout and take it to a machine shop. They should be able to press off the old pulley and install the new one.

Do it right and use the correct tool for the job. If you don't and damage the supercharger it will cost you more to replace it than the cost of the tool rental.

No auto parts store that I know of has a puller they can loan you that will get the stock SC pulley off without introducing a serious risk of damaging something. I have the actual M90 puller tool and sometimes even it bends the stock blower pulley getting it off because it is on so tight. A standard 3-jaw puller would most certainly mangle and deform the stock SC pulley and probably wouldn't be able to remove it anyway. And this damage could make it impossible to use the proper M90 pulley puller to get that pulley off (making it necessary for you to disassemble the blower and use a press to get what's left of that pulley off later).

That having been said, I do have a power steering pulley removal and installation tool and its installation tool does a better job of installing the new SC pulley than the M90 tool I have does.

Thanks so much again!
