Ive got an L32 PCM and want to upgrade it to the L67 OS. Im VIN locked on the PCM and hoping that if someone can swap the VIN on a stock L67 tune that I could use my vin locked license to perform a write entire and upgrade the OS.

Anyone with knowledge know if this will work? If so, anyone out there with the ability to do so willing to help me out?

The HP Tuners VCM Suite software license registers to a read-only serial number stored in the PCM, not the VIN. Changing the VIN on a 2nd PCM will still require you to use credits to license that 2nd PCM so you can tune it with your HP Tuners software.

The L32 PCM is a different type than the L67 engines used, therefore the operating systems and tune files themselves are different. You can't put a 3800 Series 3 SC L32 tune file onto a 3800 Series 2 SC L67 PCM or vice-versa. Different hardware and operating systems.

You weren't talking about an "L36" PCM tune, were you?

Woohoo, got it working myself. I ended up finding an oem 2003 S/C bin file and using the tiny tuner source code to change the serial number of the tune. It should be noted that Tiny tuner's source code had a typo / bug in it that stopped you from changing the serial correctly. it was reading the serial from the right spot, but WRITING the serial to a different spot. I ended up fixing that source code in Visual studio, modifying the serial and using an older version of HP tuners that would open BIN files to open it, flash entire, and boom, now Ive got a genuine S/C OS on it. Looks like HP tuner simply uses the serial number to lock, not the VIN as Id thought. (In fact I couldnt change the VIN, it complained that the VIN didnt match the new OS)

Im guessing thats not going to help many people in the future, but I thought I would share either way.

This http://theblattners.com/Pro...nyTuner/default.html ?

Look like he using another forum and sourceforge to post updates etc...

Consider Post (or PM/email/etc if you don't want to post public.) the "bug" section of code and your fix.
Note the ECM/PCM type and flash/rom code this bug affected.

This could save others for same PCM type. I'm betting most users can't use or read the source code but author can add/fix the DL files.
If he's still actively using above. He's still updating he's home page and list E-mail there.

As written, Might work for other PCM types but won't work w/ you PCM. Or maybe No-one tried to change the VIN/SN and didn't see and/or understand the problem. (Possible because looks like they just copy/past the tables most times from Video link... )
