In the process of doing a 3800 swap and ordered fuel pump acdelco ep381 from eBay what a mistake. Not only was it incorrect it showed up and no box like that was advertised. Came from some non USA market pump not one intended for USA and they sent me an equivalent to a ep240. So far spent what I could have on two pumps that are wrong when I could have just bought one from rock auto or jegs lesson learned. My question is has any used and ep381 or 376 equivalent pumps airtex, non oem brands.
For the EP381 use a named seller Napa, Rock auto ect. Seen too many copies. Also I would stick with AC Delco or the Delphi equal. Carter in desperation. Bosch used to be reliable, but been seeing them cheapen out on their aftermarket coverage. Still ok for OEM. Seen many failures with Airtex.
Thank you appreciate the input I think I may order the ep381 from jegs. I was considering the Walbro 255 or DW 200 but don't feel like buy a copy by mistake. I am pretty much going to be stock so I don't feel the need for higher one as realistically probably 2 years before I would make some upgrades needing a bigger pump. Has anyone had any luck with the acdelco bvg00240 I couldn't find specs.
That pump looks very promising I had come across it on eBay but was unsure the quality warranty sounds good not that I hope to use warranty. I think I may do that pump I almost bought the 69225 Bosch last night till I read this now I have to think about it some more. Thanks for suggestion.
Autozone has even switched to Delphi now instead of airtex, ACdelco = china now, if you can find an AC-Delco then old stock oem (notice the dash) so delco is no better than any other brand now. But I keep hearing stories of buying acdelco and getting a genric box. My airtex may be going out (after a few years) not sure yet, haven't run a Delphi pump long enough to tell how they do. So beware of ACDelco now, more china crap. Not worth the extra money people want, unless you find an ebay ad of "actual pic" of an AC-Delco. FYI
Yes I have noticed that as well I think I may purchase the pump norsac suggested even thought I found the wallbro cheaper has anyone else run this pump?
The referenced pump is a Walbro Knock Off. Might save you a few bucks, but not worth the effort to have to change it if it goes out. I have the Walbro 255 in my El Camino. Works OK, but it is loud ( even with the tank in the back). Got to be even louder sitting right next to you. I used the EP381, and I'm very happy with it. It is quiet ( have to look at volt gauge to see if it is priming). I plan on replacing the Walbro with one of the EP381 next time I have the tank down in the Elky.
Like was mentioned, be sure to find and EP381 from a reputable dealer. Might cost a few more bucks, but it's still cheaper than a Walbro.

Why do you say it's a knockoff? It is made in the USA, quiet, lifetime warranty, and outputs 255lph as advertised and The OEM ep381 doesn't output 255lph so it's not recommended for high hp builds.

I actually like what I read online about it I am between the dw200 and the high flow. It maybe a copy but doesn't mean it's bad. Let's face it like most things 1 or two major company's put all the r&d only to have spent so much developing it. Then some company copy's it and sometimes makes it better and cheaper because not the same overhead.
