just curious if there is a difference between the left and right cylinder head. i got my heads rebuilt at a machine shop and they didn't specify which one was which.

when looking at them there is a bolt in the side of one and a plug in the corner of one but not the other. does either of these indicate which side is which?

Thanks!

The heads themselves are identical. However, one of them gets the coolant temperature sender installed in it, and the other gets a plug. The temperature sender goes on the trunk side cylinder head, by the ignition coil. So the head with the plug goes on the firewall side.

Heads are exactly the same, BUT when installing, get the head with the "threaded hole" for the sender on the correct side, The Plug Is a Real PIA to get out if you mix them up (Especially AFTER you put the engine in ! )

How about the bolt that has additional threads on it like it's meant to hold a ground wire? I think I've narrowed it down to the front of engine (when looking into trunk of car) all the way to the left. does this sound right? cant tell from the photos and posts i've looked at so far. just wouldnt mind confirmation on my thoughts. Thanks!
