Has anyone tried installing a 3rd Millenium Retrofit headrest speakers in a Fiero?
The speakers and speaker boxes are rectangular but I think there is enough room in the headrests to carve out some foam as needed.
I have an '84 with original (shot) headrest speakers and I'd like to upgrade.
There are other options like the Clearwater Miata kit out there too

I had the Clearwater speakers originally in my Indy stereo writeup.

But I found the tweeters on them to be a little shrill so close to MY ears (your results may vary).
They are now in a friend's car. He's a little harder of hearing and they are perfect for him.

Here's a good replacement for headrest speakers - Tang-Band 3" full-range 8ohms w/neodymium magnet
I've replaced my Clearwaters with these and they sound very, very good.

The subwoofer in the factory enclosure is also a Tang-Band...

Actually, before I read your whole post I was thinking more tweet would be better for me, having worked on jets and Helos my whole life...You haven't lived until you are inside a fuselage and someone starts riveting on the outside without warning you!
