If usb com port work w/ XP and others then can try that above.
Can try new drivers for ALDL tool in Win10 too. Some use same chip to run them but can't find data right now. maybe search for red river aldl new driver here.
But... USB isn't completely "Universal" even now. Some examples:
Some older USB (1 to 2) can have problems when used on USB 3(& 3.1) that many newer laptop only have.
Some times setting in the "BIOS" are problems. Other times is a problem w/ windows or USB main/root hub drivers or default settings for it/them.
(Some USB3 devices don't work is some USB 1 or 2 ports even in same system.)
And if you run 64 bit Windows, many old devises will have problems. Mainly because many Never made a x64 driver and can't use a x86(32bit) signed or unsigned driver.
Note: Some USB and even 9 pin com ports won't work w/ old methods to connect to GM OBL1 ALDL ports. Max232 and others works electronically but many Com ports can't handle nonstandard bit rates. Many problems like these in the PFF archives for old systems w/ WinXP.
