Runs fine. Then at light.........dead. Sometimes it restarts right away. Other times it needs a bit. What are common causes. Yes, the check engine light will be on before it happens.

It is now in da shop. Next to noone can pull OBD1 codes. Ofcourse, there is alwsys the perennial favorite, the paper clip.
I just decided the man might be a better option at this point.
The car needs 3 start cycles to actually start. Then there is the oil pressure gage issue and lastly, it dies for no good reason. Hopefully i can get to the bottom of this.

With a car of this vintage, often "the man" turns out to be totally out of his element... and it can get expensive paying someone else to work on a 30 year old car (especially if they just start throwing parts at it). I hope this works out for you.

I hope you have this fixed by now but just in case, check the metal tube that goes to the bottom of the EGR valve. They are prone to cracking and causing a vacuum leak. It happened on my 86 GT and had the same problem.
