The wipers on my 86 2M4 would only run at low speed. All other positions were inoperative.
The pulse switch is no longer available.
Sooo, with nothing to lose, I remove the wiper switch.

By drilling & Dremeling the long rivets disassembly is achieved.

Using a multimeter to check continuity, open circuit is found between a rivet and the white power wire's copper end terminal.
A small bit of flux & solder closes the circuit.

Next a check on the other end of the same rivet revels the same lack between the rivet and the copper base plate. Solder again fixes the problem.

Next I swing the copper arm ( seen in bottom of above photo) back into its recess and solder the rivet head to the arm.
Reassembly by placing small glob of solder on each of the rivets where material was removed holds the switch parts firmly together.
Continuity test show all switch positions working properly.
After reinstallation of the switch and reassembly of the tilting steering column (that was the hard part), the switch works like new!
