I want to keep the stock radio to play my cassettes and I really do appreciate a stock look. I'm taking it out to rebuild it as there are some broken pieces inside and while I have it out I thought I'd see if there's any other option out there that would work. I found this one unit called "Jensen CM7015K" that plays both cd and cassettes and is a 1.5 din but I assume it'll be too deep to fit into the car. Are there any modifications to make it fit flush or are there any other stereos like this one out there?

Not sure why you want to stay with cassettes, but...

Email them about adapters for the wiring harness.

Many of us have put in the late 1990's CD players from Pontiac Grand Am, Grand Prix etc.

People often shake their heads when I say I want to keep a cassette player in my fiero. There's just something about physically putting in the tape and listening to below par quality of music that can't be replicated haha. Thanks for the link I might actually go with that one!

You should try an 8-track tape! Designed by Bill Lear (Lear jet) and the tape starts to stretch on the very first play! Freaking super awesome! I had one in my 1972 Mercury Comet and had Srgt. Peppers (Beatles), Queen I and II......And then I gave up, because they strrrrreeeTcccccccchhhhhh.........Switched to Cassette, and now I use only CDs....

Side note; "Bohemian Rhapsody" is a very good movie about the group Queen and their lead singer, Freddy. The reviewers talk about the guy who does Freddy, but since I am a guitar....."Player"......I was amazed at the guy who plays Brian May, the most underrated guitarist in the world. That actor absolutely nailed it.

Too bad they didn't hang on a few more years to have made it into the Fiero era (I had a '79 Nova and the owner's manual showed the 8-track that was still available that year). I love the obscure stereo options.

I think this would have been the "top of the line" radio/cassette of the time for Pontiac.
