Does anyone know if the upper intake from this 85-86 Camaro/Firebird 2.8L MPFI engine flows any better than our stock Fiero version? I mean is it less restricted through the neck, similar to a Dawg modification? Of course one would have to change the direction of the cold air plumbing and throttle cable, etc.

That is the LB8 engine; 135 hp and 165 lbs torque.

Don't know about flow, but those numbers are lower than the Fiero L44 engine, which was rated at 140 hp and 170 lbs.

The beauty of it (once you switch to DIS) is that you can then port the neck to up to 60mm easily without the "surgery" required (See DAWG intake mod).
Stock though it's got an even smaller TB than the Fiero. So I created an adapter to use a larger throttle body. Don't forget to shave it down where it meets the middle manifold. This allows you to polish and port much deeper into the plenum and makes the ports much larger. Same would have to be done to middle manifold where it too can be shaved down about 0.3"

Hmmmmn, curious. What accounts for the lower HP I wonder?

So this is the intake you are using on your 3400 with 3.4TDC pistons. What 60mm throttle body are you using?

I'll toss out another question since it is an intake question as well. If I get a 3.4L Camaro engine for the short block this Star Trek-like upper intake would come along for the ride. Has anyone attempted to turn one of these into a Dual Throttle Body intake by cutting off at the red lines and welding on some adapters? (I don't remember who I got the picture from on the forum years ago but 'many thanks' if you are still out there.)
