What is the best wheel and racing slick combination for drag racing a Fiero? I'm looking to do some 1/8 mile drag racing with my 84.

If your Fiero is going to be used for drag racing, a set of drag radial tires or racing slicks will work nicely. Mickey Thompson, M & H Racemaster , Goodyear and Hoosier make such tires but you will need to determine the best size for the wheelwell. If you choose a street/strip tire I recommend not driving with them in the rain. One guy in a former club found out the hard way with a scary ride home. Drag tires will also place a high amount of stress on your transmission, especially the manuals.

I've never raced a Fiero.... I would think you want as small diameter tire as possible; especially for the 1/8th mile. Make torque and get the car going. In the 1/4 mile you want to be topping out in 4th gear on the big end. If you need 5th, you're geared to low. If you're in 3rd or chugging in 4th, you're geared to high. This may not hold exactly true for the 1/8th mile. Still, in either case you want to be at the end of a gear at the finish line. With a stock engine I doubt grip will be much of a problem. A good tire should have grip. Yes, you can use specialty tires, but I think you want to work with diameter to dial in your gear ratio. You're car isn't stock, but the reasoning is still sound.

With available online calculators, you should be able to determine a diameter based upon the MPH you expect at the finish line. It's an educated start at least vs a guess.

Rear tires need to have sidewall, stay away from low profile tires and large diameter wheels.

14 or 15 inch wheels with a tire height in the 25 to 27 range, depending on your gearing as pointed out above.

Tall and skinny on the front

As light a wheel as you can find/afford, with proper widths for the tires.
