I've almost saved this Fierro from death, runs good and stops good (it should, havnt moved it yet).
Been having the famous clutch problems with the hydraulic clutch.
Replaced the pedal in favor of the steel one, mine was bent to hell.
Installed the adjustable banjo bolt
clutch now sits about an inch above the brake as it should (thanks to the adjustable banjo, and i have bleed the system like crazy).
PROBLEM
My clutch feels like its hitting a wall. about 3/4 of the way through the swing it comes to a stop. when the engine is running I cannot slot it in gear.
I have noticed someone had extended the rod on the master cylinder with some cut and weld. (maybe to make the clutch engine sooner? or at least try).
QUESTION
What is cause the pedal to not want to go to the floor?
POSSIBILITIES?
it looks like the lever for the clutch fork is hitting the engine block, there is not a lot of clearance down there but i can't really see to verify. I took a video as a friend hits the pedal and you can see the lever bent like it is hitting something. Is this lever adjustable? could someone have put it on incorrect so its too far away from the slave cylinder? (maybe the reason why the rod on the slave was extended???)
Could the master cylinder be incorrect for the car? did they change them in any years? maybe someone put on a wrong cylinder? same for the slave?
