Many have seen my Cave, Headlights and how to aim section...

This is the tool that section is based on, the Hoppy Headlamp Adjuster.

While this is only for Vertical Aiming... Hoppy is/was well known for making Pro Use Headlight Aiming tools that can set Horizontal Aiming too even for car w/ trim blocking a board for this in my cave. Search Hoppy B4A Headlamp Aimer Kit These cover small and big bulbs and later some Aero HL w/ aiming bumps.

How to Use:

(When turned to aim, another set of lines are used.)

FLOOR SLOPE COMPENSATION
1. Park vehicle on flat paved surface.
2. Slide Center Aim Pad out until it stops.
3. Place Adjuster with Pads Down on surface next to front wheel of vehicle. Extended Pad Points Toward Rear Of Vehicle
4. Turn Adjustment Knob until Bubble is centered between Lines.
HEADLAMP AIM ADJUSTMENT
1. Place Adjuster Pads over Headlamp Aim Pads. (Slide Center Pad Down for Small Headlamps)
2. While Holding Adjuster on Headlamp Pads Turn Vertical Adjustment Screw (Located at Top or Bottom of lamp) until Bubble is centered between Lines.
3. Vertical Aim Adjustment is Complete.

While this unit works with small and large headlights, H6054 Shown, early versions only fit 1 size. Same for Round Bulbs. (Hoppy made 4 tools when first release to consumer retail.)

Where do you get one?
Eflay, flea markets, etc. Hoppy stopped making these Decades ago.
And Why I posted the directions in the Cave.

Notes:
I have several units and some are bad like the yellow front unit w/ bad level but get good front pic w/ logo and back text smeared w/ marker to read.
The Center Pad has a "knob" in the handle to move. Many of these have problems because of Dirt in them etc. so often won't move easily.

Here is my Hoppy B4A kit...
Complete but never tried using since got this summer. (E2A Did try later but suckers are bad.)
Likely sold in late 70 to 80's because doesn't have mod's and adapters for Aero HL w/ aiming bumps.

The "Rings" only fit in the case to stay put and close and not very obvious way to do it.

PDF of later version is here... https://ssl.hmswarehouse.co...CH/hoppy/HP1003B.pdf

The Company is still around and owns many Brands likely know but seems no mention making either on www.hopkinsmfg.com

Here's a video from Hoppy copied on YT
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w5RnK7wb-7E

Notes:
This and others show W & V numbers for "aero" HL... Some have this. Others have numbers right next to aiming bumps.
Shows how H & V knobs work to check aiming for customers etc w/o messing w/ actual adjuster screws often need replacement.
Most never say Clean the Lens and when needed the suction cup before use. Road and other crap left on them can wreck the cup and won't hold and tool can fall and break. Do Not use Spit on the cup for same reason because often has food and worse to "eat" the rubber.

Most newer Aero HL don't have aiming bumps and need Optical Aiming machines.
