Update to an Archive Thread
Update you turn light and not a LED item...1. Tridon for US & other Markets is now NOVITA a division of OSRAM/SYLVANIA (Australia still have tridon.com.au selling under the old name.)
So flasher unit are still same PN but Packaging & Product have NOVITA
Electro-mechanical unit:
EL12 Standard noise
LF12 Loud noise (Yes, they are Loud. Think UPS trunk.)
Side Note: These were Patented in 1963 but likely cost too much to make for several more decades.
https://patents.google.com/patent/US3247402A/en2. Some people want old Thermal Flashers... While still find Thermal ones, seems NOVITA & some others have stopped making them.
Example: NOVITA
Flasher Quick Reference shows bottom view of many Thermal Flashers but PN are all Electro-mechanical unit like EL12.
But CEC page in next item still list Thermal Flashers.
Note: If you use them, Turn Signal & Hazard Flashers are Not the same for nearly all vehicle that had them because # of bulbs affect how they work if they work. This "problem" doesn't affect EL12 & most other electronic units.
3. In other threads & in the cave, Blazer FL32 Electronic Flashers is used/mention... Many have them & work but very hard to find now & one source is Tractor Supply that currently "got problems" that is beyond scope here. (TS seems to sell this only online not in most store.)
I believe Blazer parts are rebranded or get from same source is CEC Industries & is available elsewhere.
EF32 is standard unit for 1 to 12 1157/2057 bulbs.
EF32RL fits same plug but has extra ground to work w/ LEDs when other don't. But
⚠️ Warning: Any Flasher w/ this can "blink" yet some to all of the "bulbs" fail to light etc.
⚠️ Warning: Do Not put any Plastic case Flasher in any clip made for Metal case Flashers like Fiero flasher clip for turn signals. The "teeth" can break the case & often short out like this...
Can replace the OE clip but I leave them laying on the plastic trim panel under the steering column & still act as sounding board to hear it cycling.
