Before I can through the tremendous pain and BS involved. I just wanna check something.
Will an 86 (later style) master cylinder work with an 84 slave cylinder.
I am currently swapping in my LQ1 into my 86 which is paired to an 84' MY17 I had laying around the 84 MY17 only has provisions for the earliest style master cylinder. Will this bologna work? Both the Master and Slave are relatively recent (2 yrs or less Rodney Dickman's)
Yes, and the later style Rodney one is better than the early style, which doesn't have the factory travel for whatever reason (not a problem, and I've already talked to Rodney about it, he confirms.)
I got the Rodney early version and the later aluminum slave and Rodney's bleeder kit. Bench bled the master and installed. Replaced the slave and installed the bleeder kit. I jacked up the rear of the car and bled and refilled 3 times. Worked great. Best clutch control ever. On my 84 3800 swap with hybrid 4 spd.

I have tried everything but bleeding Fiero's always turns into a exhausting exercise, makes me feel better knowing the master/slave combo should work, once it actually gets bled!
Some good info here, V8 Archie's clutch bleed info and other Archisms
I have used Archie's method several times and it works great for me. I have a 3800 swap with a Getrag with Rodney's aluminum master with his Isuzu slave cylinder. My DD is a manual and the Isuzu slave let me have the clutch and brake pedals even, same as my DD.
Duke not that I am an expert but I unbolted my slave and tilted it so bleeder is at highest point and loosened the bleed screw and pushed the rod in and held it there until bleeder was closed. i repeated this 3 or 4 times and rebolted in place. Clutch worked perfect. sleek
Hello everyone. Turns out, I made an error. When were testing the engine, we had the slave disconnected and when my buddy pushed down on the pedal, he bent the everloving bejesus out of it, a replacement pedal and master rod fixed my bleeding issue
Sounds like it's also time for a replacement buddy.
To be fair, he did say, "George this pedal is really hard to push". He's kinda a wimp so I figured he was being dramatic and I said "Dude just push it down" I was frustrated with something else and didnt think about it. My fault lol
