Hi All,

I have an 88 GT, V-6, 5-speed. If you can let me know what is supposed to plugged into the connection in the attached pictures, I sure would appreciate your help.

Thank you.

I'm sorry all. I thought I loaded them, but I think I wiped out the links. Hopefully you all can see them here:

Thank you.

Isn't that a lamp socket?

I concur, that is the bracket that holds the courtesy lamp and socket for the front trunk compartment.

Some people like to mount the socket for the bulb pointing up, but I think it is designed for bulb pointing down.

Yes, bulb down.

The underside of the wings on the bracket can be covered with aluminium tape or painted silver for better lighting of the front compartment..

As a side note, that Frunk light only illuminates if the parking or headlights are turned on.

Joe, I like the idea of using aluminum tape to create a reflector. I've been Fiero-ing for thirty-one years and have never heard that.

I've done that on my Fieros since I my first one in 95. It really brightens up the frunk area.

Oddly enough, not all Fieros came with the underhood light... it was an option.

Some Fieros didn't come with the light in the rear trunk either. It came with a solid (not clear) grey or beige plastic cap in place of where the light went, and just an empty hole where the switch would go.

It was something I thought was always kind of cool about the Fiero. If you wanted to... you could literally get the Fiero totally stripped down... like, they even had a block-off plate for the radio. I had a 1985 Fiero 2m4 SE back in 1997 that I got for $250 from a local auction, it had no options, except a sunroof, and an AM radio. I kept the AM radio because it was so weird to me... no FM... just AM.
