Ok, and keep an eye on eBay for the used ones, this doesn't apply to all parts, but I've heard that the used OEM Bosch ones (maybe $20) end up being better/more reliable than the generic Chinese ones you can get now, and cheaper!

4T60 into a Fiero
What should have been an easy swap has turned into a real problem. First it was the Axels. The only place that I found for the correct axles was at Auto Zone part numbers are: Left side 8471N Right side 8430N. Other part stores will give you the axles with 27 splines and you need axles with 33 splines to do the job. The part numbers from the old instructions that you will find seem to be the 27 spline ones. It seems the part numbers have changed over the years.

Then I could never find the governor cap as most 1980 cars were scrapped in the cash for clunker run they did years ago. Only option I found was to go with a Digital Dakota converter box. This managed to get the speedometer working but not the cruise control.

I'm sorry to hear it's been a nightmare for you.
As far as my axels go, I haven't crossed that bridge yet. When I originally built my car, the widetrack suspension kit came with hubs from a Chevrolet S-10. I had to have custom axels made (both length and splines) to go from S-10 hubs to the TH125 Fiero transmission. Once the trans arrives I'll see if the axel cv cups that I have will fit the 4T60 trans, or if I will have to get cups that will fit and see if my axels will fit into those. If not I'll just have to have some custom axels made.

Does anybody know if the 4T60 requires a tripot with a male end that inserts on the passenger side, and a female end that inserts on the driver side? I'm sure mine is no different than any other, I just dont remember this being the case.
