Chop #27 went home this last week.

For the record, that nose design was submitted to me by Steven Simpson (fourpoint9).

The customer had asked for something similar & Steven photoshopped & submitted it. That photoshop was totally unsolicited. The customer told me what he had in mind & a few days later Steven emailed me that photoshop. Kinda cool how 2 people who don't know each other have the same idea at the same time for the same car.

So, Thanks Steven.

A friend, and forum member makes these at a per order basis. Quality is top notch, and he is great to work with.

I see the owner captured the "Curley pose." Hey Archie, please keep track of the owner. I'd like to see how he'll complete his choptop; color, wheels, and interior. He is off to a great start so it's all down hill from here.

After several weeks of waiting for the customers agents to arrainge shipping the LS3 SC GT40 finally shipped out today.....

I've been asked what State or City this car is going to. You're not going to see it at the local WalMart. It's going to Doha, Qatar.

Someone will comment that the rear of the car is sitting too high. I already know that. This car is shipping via Containerized Cargo I was requested to have a minimum clearance under the car if possible. So the rear Coilovers are adjusted about 1" higher than I'd like it.

Wow, what an awesome thread!
Just went through the whole thing over the last few days, to get caught up on what's been going on while I was out for a while.
Noticed there was some talk regarding Ferrari-style wheels, so I thought I'd add this...

From Image Wheels UK

355

F40

Billet 11

Billet 40P

Billet 103

And they have others as well.

For something like the GT40 they also have

BRM6 Classic Build

CHB Classic Build

GTD5

And they even have you covered for Lamborghini and Lancia type replicas...

Lambo Classic Build

LS Classic Build

As you can tell, I LOVE these guys.
Everything is totally custom, to your specs, tons of finishes available, etc..

HRE Wheels can help you, too...

Vintage 505

Vintage 454

Vintage 501

...And if you're doing anything late '70s or '80s Rally or Groupe B...

Vintage 935

...In addition to all their other styles people are likely already familiar with.

Wheels are one of the single most important modifications you can make to a car.
They affect the overall aesthetics, handling and more.
I love different wheels and thought I'd pass on a few I'd found in my searches.
Hope that's OK.

Great so far! I had the onerous task of running all of the winter storage gas out of it this past weekend , 200 miles of hard high rpm shifting S/C driving .... I didn't go home until Lisa called to find out if I was ok. 3rd gear is a blast

Edit: I will need new softer rubber soon as the Pirelli Pzero are 5yrs old and hard. I hear that the Nittos are softer and should grab better

I would be more than happy to do some WINTER driving for you here in Miami, all you have to do is hand over the keys and I will fly up to you and drive the car south.

Its funny how hard my performance tires got and the touring tires on my car now are by far out performing the performance tires I had on the car.

When it comes to tires, "performance" is a relative term. Tires that improve your launch usually hurt your cornering. It's all about the "performance" YOU are looking for.

Many people here know that, for many years, I've been recommending www.crateenginedepot.com to get the best prices on crate engines.

The next time you contact them about a crate engine foryour Fiero, you can know that he will know what your talking about.

Today, Tom stopped by the shop to pick up his just finished LS3 6 speed Fiero.

He is a member of this Forum & plans to have a thread to show his whole project.

Welcome to the Fiero world, Tom.

Exactly, this one is as much of a sleeper as your car is.

Archie, if you are going to be at the shop on Wen (17th) or Thur (18th), some time in the morning if time permits I will stop by. Have to pick up a car in Rockford and haul it to Indy. Will call you when I know the final details.

Picking up the car was a great thrill. It was like I was 7 years old again, only this time with a driver’s license (see how long that lasts).
Archie and his team did a great job. I crawled around under it when I did my first oil change looking at there workmanship.
Many times I look at things wondering if I had done it if i would of done it differently or better. I could not find anything that I wasn't amazed with.
Archie you and your team do one hell of a nice job.
Thank you for putting up with my constant calls and emails.

Only one problem to report since picking it up, I have to replace the driver’s seat cover..... I got a bit excited... OMG this thing is fast.
Archie had me go test drive the car the day I picked it up and once I got out to a safe place I floored it. I haven’t been pushed back into a seat that hard since I was a teen dating.
Once again Thank you Archie
Tom

Anything new to report from the shop? In a world where Fiero vendors seems to come and go regularly it's nice to have Archie around when you really need to have something done on a schedule.

Sorry that you (& others) got the short end of the stick.

But you can't be too hard on yourself. Back then there was a lot of hype saying how great the work was coming out of that shop. But yet no one was posting any pics of all that great work.

A lot of people fell for the hype & passed it on.

Best of luck to you & the others.

It seems that there are a lot of people who are real good at taking down payments but not so good at getting the work done.
